Hahah just cuz I like to get good mileage out of it doesn't mean I don't drive it. I put between 80-200 miles on it daily. I have to refill almost every 2-3 days. As for abuse, well **** I love my Z it's the first I've owned and I want her to last, though I do fancy the idea of a new engine haha.
What would you suggest? Replacing the Pistons or just swapping out the engine? Would a GT-R engine fit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Like I said man, your car, your money. I am sure this car can take a good beating as it was made a sports car, unlike a prius. I was refering to real road rage. 7k+ shifts from point a to point b. Kinda like that 350Z highway video going around where he is hitting the rev limiter like crazy zig zagging through cars. If you do indeed drive like that everytime you get in a vehicle. I call BS. Everyone has their ideas od driving like they stole it. I prefer only to drive that way in the autoX or road courses. I baby my car the majority of the tine on the street

Wow, first who cares about mileage, if you do this is the wrong car for you, second, I normally up shift at 4500-5000 rpm, I try and keep it close to 5K, around town normally I am not out of 3rd gear....I also run the A/C..in Oklahoma in the summer it is a must...

I drive like a granny when my fuel gauge is on no dot and try to keep the mpg gauge at 30mpg at minimum.

there's this hill near by that im in 2nd gear going down hill and the car still picks up speed with no throttle.
my car also picks up speed going down my driveway in neutral.. but it's in reverse so it's weird. |

You're experiencing effects of gravity. This behavior is to be expected and no cause for concern. In space this would not happen.

For me, it depends on the size of hill, if its a big hill, think Colorado mountain roads? MPG isnt a huge concern and heating up my brakes becomes the concern and so the game becomes "Can I not hit the brakes at all down this road". When driving up and down the long sweeping hills in Nebraska, its not a huge concern, I do not neutral coast, I just stay in 6th and let it coast or hold me back. Spirited driving negates any MPG concerns. -Do you hit the gas while going up hill or do you just take your time at a leisurely pace? Depends again on my mood, girlfriend in the car? She gets a little annoyed when I peg the rev limiter coming up this one hill nearby her house. By myself with an empty road? Peg the rev limiter it is! The important thing is to know that there is a time to go fast and theres a time to cruise. Find out how to moderate these two and you'll always have a good day. -Windows up or down? I prefer windows down unless there is inclement weather. Even when its horridly hot here, I am just used to having the windows down and just using the breeze. Now if I have a passenger its always their choice. One of my pet peeves is that rain falls off of the roof and straight inside onto the door panel because the roof is skinny than the door. And I love driving with the windows down when it is just nicely showering, but the water falling in makes me worry. My MPG (while driving as above described) ends up being around 21 in the city which I'm rather happy about. Faster than most of the loud *** V8's that drive around my town and more efficient, thats a win/win if I've ever seen one. My driving style consists of pure cruising, or sorta rushing to get to 6th just to sit there and let the engine work as little as possible (IE best MPG), or just driving hard and making all the beautiful noises she makes on the way through the rev range. Don't late the negative people get you down. The only dumb question you can ask is "I have 50$ should I turbo ma car yo?" There are people here who can appreciate both MPG and aggressive driving, and also cruising. KBC |

RPM shifting and all general personal driving choices.

Thank you for your support and understanding! This is exactly what I'm looking for just a sharing of personal feels when driving. I get hyped when I share I just thought others would appreciate it as well... And I totally agree, I try to find a blissful point of good mpg and aggressive driving. My average speed is 80-85 and she runs smooth. PS DUDE I HATE HOW WATER GETS IN! The roof is a let down when there's rain man :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by FairladyZ40th; 08-17-2015 at 03:59 PM. |
