Anyone In GA Want A Nismo 370?

Check it out, good price IMO

Its a Magnetic Black Nismo 370 with only 1,809miles.
Just thought I would put that out there for the people who are users of the370z and still haven't bought a Z

2009 Nissan 370Z NISMO, $35,900 - Cars.com

CrownR426 10-27-2009 09:27 PM

That's not a good price imo

Of course not...because that is the price where it is listed. One would be foolish to list a car at a price where there is no room for negotiation.

Figure it could be talked down to roughly $32K if you are a buyer.

2-3k less than what you'll pay at the dealership, with less than 2k miles....while it's not a stellar deal, it's certainly not bad, especially considering the possibility of some negotiating like the OP said.

You really think ~ $32K is realistically what you can buy this car for?

You should come to expect unrealistic from JoeD by now.

I overlooked the fact that is was listed at $35.9K, so merely shaving off $3K puts it at a 32-handle, but of course in the very high 32s.

Regardless of error in semantics...negotiating at least $2,500 off a car listed in the mid-30s is completely within reason. Standing corrected, $33,500 would be the most realistic price for this car, still making the car a good deal for the buyer.

Arbitrary on you.

If a Nismo is say $40K MSRP, invoice is $37K, a dealer might get away with buying it off your hands for $32K.

Private party or on the street, there's no way you can buy this for even $33.5K with 1,900 miles. I used to be a car salesman, and what I often did was "curb trades." What this is when the customer had a "hot" car to trade, or a car I knew was easy to "flip" on the streets, I'd buy it off their hands instead of letting them trade it in to the dealer; e.g. Honda Civic hatchback EG (1992-95) I'd buy for like $1,000-1500 whereas the dealer would buy for $500, then I'd turn around and sell i for $3,000. A $1,500-2,000 arbitrage. The point, I bought and sold lots of cars on the street as well as retail at a new car dealerships, and you're, politely put--a wishful thinker--who has no grasp nor experience.

If we work on invoice price for a Nismo, starting point $37K, and this Nismo has 2000 miles; 2000 miles of 15,000 is like 13.3% of total depreciation. Thus, I'd REALISTICALLY imagine from historical Blue-Book and Nada depreciation, that this Nismo will lose 20% of value after 1 year or 15,000 miles of use. 13.3% of 20% = 2.6%. 1- 0.026 =97.34%, thus this Nismo is worth about $37K x 0.9734 =$36,000 (based on invoice price).

mattkim85 10-28-2009 02:49 AM

hmm from what i have heard, once you sign all the paperwork
the car depreciates in value 20%. That is the main reason experts recommend putting down at least 20% for the car just so that if you run into financial instability, you would not be hurt by it as much.

20% of $40k is $8000

so IMHO $32,000 - $33,000 sounds about right.

Ask Fusz if my reasoning is correct.

And nooooo, you heard wrong. Cars don't deppreciate 20% "once you sign all the paperwork." :rofl2: "That is the main reason experts recommend putting down at least 20% for the car just so that if you run into financial instability, you would not be hurt by it as much."-if you're gold-balls credit, make lots of money, have a high 'revolving availability'--you can roll outta the Porsche dealer with just drive-off's i.e. ~10.5% in state of CA.

So you are saying edeezee that if i got a brand new nismo off the dealer lot... put one mile on it... it would fetch pretty much what I paid to the dealer?

LOL...perhaps this is one of the many reasons he "used to be a car salesman," on top of grossly inflating estimates on a car's value.

It's laughable how he believes this NISMO is worth $36K. Of course, anything is only worth as much as someone will pay for it, but anyone kicking the tire of this NISMO at $36K could go home, scrounge up some change from their couch, and buy a brand new one for almost the same price.

A 30-second search on Craigslist finds an '09 NISMO with only 100 miles at a local dealership listed at the same price: $35,900. Mind you, this is in the Bay Area of CA, and one of the more affluent parts to boot...not Georgia. That car has been listed for several months now. I bet I can go over there, offer them $34K flat, and drive the car home. I'm almost positive this car has never been titled, either.

Yes. What happens is that despite the Nismo with 1 mile on the odometer (BTW, this is unrealistic), the dealer buys it back for maybe 85 cents on the dollar. Remember, you're the one who got in over your head and bought something you couldn't afford. When a roach customer (a person with borderline credit) steps into Nissan dealer x,y,z...he/she salivates at 2010 Nismo. But bank denies credit to this person on $40K car. But the TECHNICALITY lies in the fact that the Nismo you "pawned" over to Nissan store X,Y,Z has some room for profit, the bank sees it as a "used" car despite it "having 1 mile" like you described, and there is a chance roach customer can acquire it as a "used" car and make some money off tier 2,3 credit.

Ask Fusz or "meet joe Asian" if what I'm saying makes sense.

Mr. JoeD, please stop talking out your a$$. I live in Los Angeles, CA in Palos Verdes Peninsula where small 1,600 sq. foot homes cost $1 million USD + on TINY 5,000 sq. foot plots of land. You don't have to  up at me because you're not some prima donna here buddy. I know and experience affluence. I don't live in Georgia, it pays to be educated, by at least skimming through what others have on their conspicuous profile before you let your ignorance, euphemistically--stupidity--manifest itself.

Anyhows, like the cliche goes: if you have to ask how much, then you can't afford it.

My name is modshack, I love playing devil's advocate. I'm uptight and take myself way too seriously. I feel empowered whenever I tell people on the370z.com "look at my 'do it yourself' section" because I like belittling others and get a kick out of feeling like I know something esoteric.

I have personal vendettas against certain members like edeeezee because they upstage me, and I always want the spotlight on me. I tried to make edeezee look stupid several months ago when he created a thread on "Nismo 370, finally out." But when I foolishly realized that he was correct, I abruptly deleted my post because I didn't want others to see my vindictive and bitter attitude.

A thief is a thief.

You're a moron if you actually believe what you wrote. Feeling persecuted there eh? I have nothing against you...I call em as I see em. Based on all the warm and fuzzies you get from many members here, I'd venture to say the problem is YOU not me..

Good for you, bud. However...you fail, since I made no reference to where you live. I mentioned Georgia as that's where the car in the OP's link was located.
