Broke mine a few months back and nobody made cheaper versions yet so the only place to get them was through Nissan and it was a 3 week wait and $1200 installed.

Wow...I had my windshield replaced on my 350Z before trading it in for $220 installed. I know the car is new, but if you can hold off and call a few places you can save some money. In the meantime, there are mobile services that will seal that crack and prevent it from getting bigger.

Glass Breakage rider on your car insurance. Highly recommended and only costs a few bucks a year.

Clearplex windshield protection stops rock chips and more.

This is one option to prevent this. Has anyone ever had this installed on there cars?

I'll testify. Had mine replaced after a rock hit it - just paid the $100 deductible.

Actually I'm not sure if I have that already or not, need to call my insurance guy and find out. If not I will definitely be getting it.
