Pop up Engine Hood indicator - After bumper removal

Hi all

I removed the front bumper today to install the modshack vent fang's. Now I have the pop up hood indicator permanently illuminated.

I read the manual and it said there is wiring and sensors in the bumper. I'm sure I didnt leave anything disconnected

Can anybody offer any suggestions?
I dont want to have to pull everything apart again
Thanks everyone :tiphat:

There is no wiring in the bumper itself, maybe in the latch area. Look carefully to see if you haven't dislodged anything. YOu should be able to get in by removing that top trim piece..

Look for the pinswitch under the hood. Make sure it's still grounded (mounted correctly) and the wire harness (probably a single wire) is plugged in completely. I'll head out to the ride and take some pics once I get a little time today.

The same thing happened to me..., when I had my bumper/fang painted..., this warning light lid up. Tried to disconnect the battery... but it wont do anything.

At the end I have no choice to bring my car to a dealer and asked them to reset it for me. Luckily they didnt charge me. I think going to dealer is your only option.

It's a freakin on/off switch not a CEL.

I had a quick look this morning and I could not find anything, I even removed the black trim piece.

digging up an old thread here

I installed the stillen G3 intake last week, and I'm getting the pop up hood indicator light as well - I tried clearing the ECU and BCM with an obd-II reader but without much success.

Anyone manage to clear it without resorting to going to the dealer?

It has to be a simple switch you guys dislodged. I've taken the bumper off numerous times and never had the light come on. Just look around the perimeter of the engine bay and at the latch area. You'll find something.

I'll have the bumper off again on Sunday and can take a look then.

Am I the only guy here that didn't even know there was a hood open indicator light?

On North American 370Zs the switch is part of the passenger's side hood latch; your wiring loom might be reversed in your case. It is also part of the security system so you should notice a change in how the alarm is set off.
