Nothing is free, you pay for it one way or another. Plus it only last for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The oil change is one thing, but doing anything else to that car will void the warranty. I am in Germany and I know a lot of people with BMWs and they are money guslers when it comes to up keep and maintenance.
Like I said before, if you like to work on your own car get a Z, if you want someone else to do the work for you, get a BMW.

I don't know man, I owned BMW's up until my G35 and now my Z, and I did all the work on them. A car's a car for the most part when it comes to that. Just because most BMW drivers are 328i-driving sorority girls doesn't mean they're hard cars to work on
Crap, speaking of which, when I had my 2000 MZ3, I don't remember ever seeing another M, and every "normal" Z3 was some old lady in an automatic |

Have a buddy who has a 335, before that a 328
Not sure why people would spread false information about the free maintenance. Only thing you take care of is the tires, period. These Z versus BMW threads should really be Infiniti VS BMW threads as they are more closely matched. I really fail to see how you can drive both, rather it be a 1,3,Z and a Z34 and not understand the differences. Really a simple test drive should illuminate the luxuries and refinement of the BMW versus the focused and raw nature of the Z.

I found the Z because of my initial look at the G37 Coupe. I was dead-set on that G, until a friend said "why not a 370z?"....I hadn't even seen or heard of the 370z at that point. One look at nissanusa, and I was a changed man!

My wife and I drove the Z4 3.5 and the 3.0 before going back to the 370Z. The Z4 just felt too tame for a sports car and the 370Z offered a nicer feel, throatier exhaust... no real comparison considering the $20,000 price difference. I DID like the Z4 Nav system in hi-def though. That was nice. Surprisingly, i thought there was more trunk space in the Z4 than the 370Z!

No offense but when I went to the automall in my area and looked at numerous of cars, none of them had the, "wow factor," the 370Z has. Saw a nice RX-8 and Genesis but it didn't quite catch my attention. I was crazy over the Audi TTS but when I saw it up close, it's not that nice. The interior is worse than a Honda. This applies for most of the cars I see nowadays, unless it's something real nice like a R8, I would still say the 370Z steals my heart away. But, everybody is different. Instead of asking others for their opinion, you should go and see the cars yourself. Test it out. Coming here and asking us what we would pick is kind of an obvious answer. No duh most of us is going to say the 370Z, why else did these people purchase the car? LOL.

I agree with Sardis. The Z4 and the 370Z are not even in the same arena. They are completely different. In the nissan/infinity worth the only thing close to compare with the Z4 would be the G35/G37 IMO.
Even then, the G wins! I just got rid of my G35 to get a 370Z for that more nitty gritty sports car.Test driving and price comparison would seal the deal for most though. If you are married, the wife might lean more towards the Z4 cause it is "CUTE" HAHAHAH!

My co-worker bought a brand new 3 series here in Germany and he does not have the 4 year warranty plan like they get in the states. He also did not pay as much as people do in the states either. Like I said before, you pay for it one way or another!

And the modding bs here is crap also. If you modify your 370, you can bet Nissan will not warranty the car either. |

Also I find it puzzling that BMW will replace a part that was/may be, clearly wear and tear and possibly carelessness by the owner. If that is so then good on BMW and I guess the extra money you pay for the BM goes into "claims" like these. |

If you are referring to what I had posted about not being into modding on the bmw vs modding a Z, what I meant was that either way with modding, you won't have a warranty, but with the bmw you will be giving up services you don't even get with the Z.
