I just took at look at it. The Z1 kit looks far superior. And I like how some idiot vendor (who I already figured to be an idiot) was knocking the build quality

The 350Z definitely had an internal CSC originally. I'm not exactly sure which years or models used an external one (I saw reports of 2007s with internal CSC failures). Or whether it was the same design as the G or they improved the G and used the new version on both Z and G in later years.
that's good that he z1 kit looks more robust. yah, i dont know the history of the external/internal slave setups either. but what i do know is that my G's clutch feels noticeably better than my Z's clutch even though it is said that csc provides a more direct feel. i dont think so!

What we need to do is make a big enough scene and make nissan do a recall already

Ha ha yeah that's not doing much obviously. We need to make a funny youtube video about Z owners buying stock in tow truck companies or something. What would rattle your cage as a nissan exec?

I called my dealer service department today (Campbell Nelson Nissan) and told him about the social media buzz regarding the failures of CSC in the Z. I asked him if it's covered by the warranty. He tells me he's only seen older model Z's have a CSC go out, and not with the newer ones. He also told me it's covered by the 5 year 50,000 power train warranty, whereas the clutch itself is not covered (pressure plate? for one). Based on what I've read about this whole situation, results seem to vary by what dealer you go through whether they just take care of it for free under warranty, or insist or charging thousands to replace everything in the clutch assembly, or blame the driver for driving their car too hard.

The CSC should be covered under the factory basic warranty (3yr/36K mi) or extended warranties (nissan's equivalent of infiniti elite care, etc). It is *not* covered under powertrain

Get this in writing from the dealer. I've only heard of two people that got their dealer to cover it after 3yr/36K miles under 5yr/60K mile power train warranty. And they were both at the same dealer. Most dealers will just try to rip you off for $1500 or so for parts and labor

And this is a big issue with Nissan, they do not have a firm warranty policy that the dealers comply with. It seems warranty repairs are determined on a case by case basis, which most of the time the claims are declined with the exception of a few repairs that dealer actually covered under their "good will" effort.

if you're an executive you care about numbers, so unless you can do something that would cause nissan to get a negative image in the public eye, they won't issue a recall or anything.

it would have to make the news and be seen by millions of people and not a few thousand that are on here.

write emails/letters to media outlets, nissan execs, car sites, etc.
the more coverage this can get the bigger the chance that a recall can be issued.
