It was the original internal design with plastic components that had the problem. They solved it by using an external slave for the last few model years IIRC. Then for the 370Z, they went back to the shitty, prone-to-failure original design

I thought the early 350Z were internal CSC but they had problems (like the 370Z does) and so they went to an external slave in later years. But I'm no expert nor did I stay at Holiday Inn Express last night
