Well, maybe in V8 horsepower but certainly not in terms of looks, style, or class. I could lose 40% overnight in another market correction, or lose 40% of the same money but drive the Jag for 5 years. I'm sorely tempted to do something that some people would deem foolish. But dammit, I'll have fun.
Like JG Wentworth says. It's your money... Lol

I don't think this F-type will depreciate like the XK'a did. This car is a true competitor. Past cars weren't.

C&D just did a a 40,000 mile review this month on their longterm Jaguar F-Type V8 S. They really like it so far. Their major complaint was that tires wear out fast ... Course they all drive it like mad so go figure.

While I'd like to see what the next-gen Z looks like, I'm happy with the one I have. If Nissan takes a break from them for a few years, then brings it back, I might get one then, who knows.

ATM, my next car is going to be a 2018 Cayman S, painted Nissan Monterey Blue. I'd have gotten a Cayman when I got my Z, but I couldn't find a color that would stand out from the black, white, silver and champagne colored cars on the road.

To add insult to injury, when I was shopping cars, every sales clown at any GM stealership, wouldn't let me even test drive a used Vette.

I agree and wouldn't mind a pause so I don't have to but a new Z and can continue playing with this one because I really like this thing.

Really? A dealer near me suggested I take one of the new 2014 Vettes for a spin. I had just gotten out of the hospital so I had track marks all over my arm, making me look like some kind of junkie. He asked if I wanted to take it for a drive, I said sure, do you need my license and insurance and he said no. And away we went...

I think it really does depend on the dealership and sales person. I think I have some issues because I'm young (25), but the good dealerships/sales people never seem to care. Once tried to test drive a 2013/2014 5.0 and the sales guy took me out of the driveway, down the road a couple hundred feet, and then back into the dealership. His reasoning "this is too much car for you", despite the fact that I did not even drive fast/aggressive or even accelerate hard.

Ghostvette, 2018 Caymans maybe turbo 4's read it online, so I went to the local Porsche dealer on Friday to confirm. Take it for whatever it's worth but the sales person told me that was his understanding for model year 2017 & on. 2016 maybe the last model year for the boxster 6 engine in the Caymans.

I'm okay with a turbo 4, as long as the power is there. If not, well, I guess it's off to the tune shop to squeeze out the horsepower and torque.

I know that 2017 is supposed to be the first year of the redesigned 911, Cayman & Boxster, so that's why I picked the 2018. It let's them get any 'bugs' worked out and it gives the aftermarket time to get goodies together.

Yes supposed to have higher hp & tq than current 6.

Porsche's have some years where their cars become collectables, ex the last year of their air cooled models. 2016 N/A Caymans may fall in that category in the future. If it could fit two golf bags in it, I would seriously consider it.

Waiting for the 2nd year is never a bad thing.
