I was about to buy a used 2006 had I not got my 370. I drove a new one @ the dealer, but I wasn't impressed. The AP2 motor is torqueless. I just thought the S2000 was a poor value. It's relatively more expensive than a 370, especially considering you get less bang for buck.
Hey, where in LA do you live. I go to USC and I see a white sport package 370 rolling up and down Jefferson and Exposition, is that you? |

Okay I don't own a Z but owned a AP2 for a year and have test driven many 350s over the years and two 370s so I'll try to make it short.
IMO the 370 is everything the 350 should have been. The car blends the best of 350 and s2000 characteristics. Both 370 and s2000 are an acquired taste. The S is light and nimble and the 370 isn't really far from that. 370 has better grip with a lot more to offer (safer, creature comforts and torque!) I fell out of love with the s2000 because the motor is just unacceptable. Sorry amount of grunt. This isn't 400hp of Italian topend, it's 240hp with not enough torque. OP.. Is this you? I had an S2000 and now have a 370Z.
S2000: 1. Go cart handling 2. Fits like a glove, you better not be overweight 3. Convertable - nice to have in good weather, can get hard top 4. Very low torque, but screams at high RPMs 370Z: 1. Feels more substantive (bigger, higher weight) 2. More torque 3. More masculine, people would ask me if my S2k was a Miata 4. New body style 5. Not going to be discontinued soon They are both awesome cars. Go for many test drives. You won't go wrong either way. |

^ yea that is me lol Guess im not used to having a car that is so "masculine" i guess you guys would say? I do know how to drive but just dont know how to take a Powerful RWD ,like the Z, to the limit. So basically i dont enjoy it as much as i could. Well saying that i enjoyed my rsx more than my 370z was a little extreme. I knew the limit of a FWD car and running up the revs to hear vtec kicking in was just a blast. I mean come on. Who wouldnt enjoy a car that could rev like that. But then I didnt like FWD wheel hop and understeer(Honestly, torque was not a big thing for me). so basically i guess for me it comes down to a S2k dont you guys think? The Z has a little over 2 years to get paid off and the S would be payed off in 3. So Im thinking either keep both or just keep the S. I might be spitting out my thoughts on the wrong forum but you guys here are a lot more mature than the other sites and wanted some good ol' advice.

keep in mind, this is my opinion I'll take a Z over a rice rocket any day, you put 10K in your RSX or S2000 and i'll put 10k in my Z, we'll see who's faster. Now enjoy your Miata, er, S2k.

LMFAO, I knew that would
Had an S2k before I bought my G, had a Science of Speed Supercharger on it, was pretty quick but lacked the TQ of the Z for sure, and I always got the "I thought it was a Miata" bit.

The RSX-S is 10k less than the Z. It's designed as a high rev, low torque sporty hatchback with a luxury flare. If you take 10k and put it into an RSX of course you can beat a Z. However, what does "beat" mean. Even with just a I/reflash/coils/sway I keep up with Z's in SCCA. In a straight line I would lose, but I like turning more than mashing a pedal. If I just cared about going fast I would go FI and beat the Z still with 10k. There's also the space issue. I have backseats in my RSX, with the 2000 and Z you lose this. What my point is, it's all down to preference. Do you care about fit and finish, turning, torque, acceleration, handling, space, etc? EDIT: Just to mention, I'm getting a 370z as my next car. At the time for 22k you couldn't beat the RSX package imo.
