Has anyone driven a 2016?

Hello, I'm new to the forum and am seriously considering buying a 370z. The one thing holding me back is the road noise factor. I know people are knocking the 2016 for having the ASE system, but does it actually help cancel out some road noise? Has anyone driven one yet to compare? Thanks

If you are worried about road noise, stick with infini.
If you want rawness from sports car, get the Z

I said that the first time I read about all the complaints about the road noise on the Z. I actually leave the radio off just to hear all the engine noise and road noise when I drive. Why worry about road noise when driving a sports car? I just keep on :driving:

I do the exact same thing. I hardly ever have the music on just so I can hear the noise from the Z. It's a sports car so it's all good.

OP, I've got a 13 sport dynomatted my doors & hatch awhile back and just put on MPSS tires today. It has less road noise than my 04 G35 coupe ever did.

Get nice exhaust and be the creator of noise.

YEAH. Make noise.

If you're worried about road noise, a 370Z might not be the right car for you.

I do notice the noise, but consider it to be a minor inconvenience and a more than reasonable trade-off to get that kind of performance for that price.

Funny thing is that my winter driver (2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD) is the quietest vehicle I've ever owned, and my Z is the noisiest.

If you want a raw great performance car get the Z. I usually turn the radio off to make sure that I can hear the engine and stuff around me. Remember, this car is not a 100K Mercedes Benz.

I test drove a 2016 Nismo last week. It didn't seem appreciably quieter than the 2015 I drove last month.

I didn't really notice the fake engine noise, either, but I mostly had the windows down.

Really? Road noise is the one thing?

If road noise is really that much of a concern, you should probably look elsewhere. The Z is quite raw. Which is how I like it :driving:

If you need to be coddled about road noise, any form of raw sports car isn't the correct car for you.

Now excuse me while I go dynamat my Harley....

I own a 16 Touring Sport Coupe, 6 spd. I noticed that I hear a lot of the dirt hitting the inner wheel wells but I think that can be attributed to the fact that there is not a lot of sound deadening material between the metal structure and the interior plastics. As far as hearing road noise...never been a problem for me I want to hear the engine.

be funny if op was looking at the convertibles.

im worried about road noise and also wind noise...?

:ugh:

TreeSemdyZee 06-18-2015 11:45 AM

I Dynomatted the rear and the doors and it got rid of a massive amount of road noise.
Now the engine is what I get to listen to instead of all of the crappy roads here.
