3,750 mile check up for the service manual is coming up very soon. I was wondering if it's worth taking to the Nissan dealership to have my car checked out.

First 3,750 miles check up
3,750 mile check up for the service manual is coming up very soon. I was wondering if it's worth taking to the Nissan dealership to have my car checked out. This is my first time owning a brand new car, especially a Nissan, plus 2009 is the first year of the new 370z model.
How much did other people pay for their check up at the dealership? Is it cheaper to get it done at any other auto places? Note: I searched for a thread on this service check, could not find anything. |

You should of got a service book with your z. You need an oil change if anything. You don't really need to take it to the dealer. I would do it myself, but that's just me.

I'm not sure it's necessary to use at least the an Ester-based oil, but I know it's at least highly recommended. Besides the oil change, the other stuff in the 3750 check-up is just fluid checks, IIRC from reading the service manual. |

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, I will take my 370 to the dealership to have the check-up. If I already got a oil change at 1,200 miles, I can tell the dealership not to change the oil right?

If you're comfortable with the oil that's in there now, yep. No reason for another oil change unless you're switching to synthetic....and most people on this forum will say 3750 is on the early side for switching.

The 1st oil change is cheap money wise I think to get you to come back again and I think they just want to get your oiled changed and fresh oil in as I noticed when I firsy got mine that the temps were up there and as I got her broke in the oil temps got lower and more stable. But during that breakin period the oil may have gotten weak and they want to make sure you get some new oil in. I had filled out a form when I bought the car stating the price of the oil change and the milage. Now the second time will cost some duckies.
Plus you could tell them to use synthetic if you want.

After that, I'll drop in that Mobil1 15K oil, and change it yearly. I don't anticipate putting on more than 7500 miles in a year. |

Everyone has correctly mentioned the oil and oil filter change, but don't forget to also check the air intake filters and replace them if they're dirty...
If you also check fluid levels (besides the oil, oil filter, and air filter changes) you have just performed the tasks that the dealer will perform, although if you have a "good" dealer they will also check the diff fluid level. |
