Default Over reacting?

So... did a 'search' and no luck.

Started the car after getting gas, and as I was leaving the lot I noticed my parking brake and brake light were both on. I immediately checked my parking brake at the light by pulling it up then pushing it down (a little more aggressively) and both lights stayed on.

restarted the car and it went away...

don't have an OBD reading (IT'S MY NEXT INVESTMENT) so I was wondering if this has happened to anyone before?

edit: also checked brake fluid which is still yellow and no signs of being 'lower'

Unhappy

I had a 1990 Hardbody 4x4 V6 that used to do some weird sh!t. Shut the engine off, and restart it. And everything was fine. Could never fine anything wrong with it. I'm seeing the same thing happening in the newer Nissans too.

Probably the brake reservoir level (as others have mentioned, the reservoir needs to be FULL; or it could be the level sensor) but could be a brake pedal switch or something else. The FSM might help.

Pads/rotors are way down my list of possibilities.

hmmm.... so my speculation for the issue is because i was on an decline leaving the gas station and bit of an incline moving over the left lane it caused the fluids to swoosh around. oh and my lead foot...

thanks for the responses everyone!

Sounds about right. Many have reported the flashing brake light on hard acceleration if the reservoir is not full. An incline would move more fluid to one side in much the same way.

Wink

Most times with low brake fluid level. You get the Brake light and the Traction control light at the same time.

i usually turn my vdc off but it was only the brake/abs light and the e-brake light.

such is weird occurence. on level ground the fluid shows a smidge under 'max'
