Theirs an employee owned store around my area that is typically $0.20 less than any "Name brand" gas station, pumping 93

I cant foresee a large difference in the types they all come from the same refineries

EDIT

Started only using Shell, its cheaper here now and better for ur car

I generally just make sure it's a big name gas station. I personally don't trust the small no name places in terms of contamination within their tanks.

The only thing I'd keep an eye on is the ethanol content. Most places in my area are all E10. I've seen in some parts of the country were you can actually find E0 although it's typically a little more.

I burn Chevron premium -- almost exclusively.

I use anything that's the cheapestst at the moment. I usually, lately, get my fuel from Giant Eagle's station called GetGo; long story on the "scheme". Very rarely I get discount for Kroger fuel (Turkey Hill stations). I don't use Shell & BP because their price spread between regular and premium (93 octane around here) is very wide (50-60c/gal). Sometimes I buy Costco Premium when there are unusual situations.

I wish my Z could run E85, but that's a story for another time.

99% of the time Costco. The other percent, I pump at Shell... When I know my car is bleeding out and is not going to make it to Costco.

Default Agree with Onzedge

Chevron with Techron is great. I have to stitch with Shell because of availability.
Both (and their oils) are top notch. Why would anyone put cheap gas in a Z?
Regarding Chevron Delo oil. We had a gas generator on the motor home for the a/c. In the heat of the summer , it would run so hard it just quit. Changed to Delo oil, it never quit again.

There's a family owned gas station in my town that sells old school gas, ethanol free! It's a little more than 93 but my Z is worth it

Only two brands of 93oct here in PR, and i believe neither exist in the US, and thats PUMA and Ecomaxx. Puma sounds like a good brand name, but it actually sucks, although its supposedly Top Tier Fuel, a lot of people have complained about it. The other brand is Ecomaxx, which sounds cheap as h3ll, but is actually pretty good and is the one i use on my Z. No complains whatsoever, and actually eliminated the low rpm range hesitation i felt on the Z when i used 91oct shell

Other known brand names like Total and Gulf are also all 91oct
At least we have some 93oct options

Working in the BMW/ auto industry for years it an ongoing argument . but for premium fuel 92 octane or better...Shell 31mg per 100ml - BP 26mg - Exxon 21Mg - Speedway 10.6mg- Mobile 10.6 mg- and down hill from there. Pilot worst of the bunch at 8.8mg... these are the measurements of detergents put in by the individual refineries ...as the gas is sold to these individual refineries often from same supplier, the government says all refineries must use a minimum amount of detergents and cleaners...some use more than others and even better quality...BP and Shell for all octanes 87-92 are the best.
Shell puts nitrogen mixtures and charges a little more for it...it mearly ignites more aggressively..is there a benefit for 8-10 cents more a gallon ??? maybe.

The biggest keys...use a pump that has multiple hoses , if you use a pump with a single hose...you could effectively pump 3-4 gallons of regular 87oct gas , when your paying for the premium. Not a good thing if your car requires premium grade.

Also visit a busy station...the fuel aren't in the tanks for weeks at a time...kind of like popping a beer and drinking it 4 hours later. Fuel can lose it's potency however still flammable.

Also Pilot, Citgo , Marathon are substandard with 10.6mg or less of detergents and cleaners per 100 ML , this is what ultimately helps your vehicle to perform better...not the octane measurement. Constant use of weaker fuels will lead to deposits and gum in injectors and lifters causing poor performance and reduced fuel economy .

Some Sunoco stores have up to 94 octane not necessarily better but...in the state of Delaware , they have less oxygen in the fuels and burn more efficiently...yielding slightly better overall performance and fuel economy.

Hope this helps !

Oh yes, for the bang for your buck tip...in the summertime (when its HOT outside)...pump in the evening when it cools off. Gas expands when its hot and you are most likely not getting as much as you are paying for. If your filling an empty tank in the summer heat , you could be loosing as much as 2 gals of gas...unless you don't care of course...lol

gas is gas, HOWEVER, different companies add different additives (i.e. shell and vpower, chevron/texaco with techron, etc.). it's the additives that make the difference.

i either use chevron or shell, although shell only offers vpower for the premium grade, which is what our cars need anyway.
