Is Nissan Ester oil made from VHVI?

* I'm not asking what oil to use, but asking from what the NEO made. Hope this thread is acceptable in this forum. :D

Is the Nissan Ester motor (engine) oil made from VHVI (Very High Viscosity Index) that it is in API Group III ? Or anyone knows exact number of its viscosity index ?

I know that the NEO is a dino (at least called in that way here), just wonder in what API group it is seperated.

Thanks. :D

IIRC, it's Group V (more-or-less Other/Miscellaneous/Mixed category). But my memory ain't what it used to be. Google "Nissan Ester Oil API Group" or similar.

No. Nissan Ester is Ester-added, not the Ester-based. Only the latter are in group V (like Redline).

Actually I already googled, but failed to find the answer.

I had sent an email to Nissan USA, but they didn't answer it.

:D

This oil is nothing special, just a "Overpriced" factory OEM oil,Mobil 1 or Redline is anytime cheaper & better.

Well.. thanks for your answer, but I don't want any unnecessary argument here.

I agree to you that Redline & Mobil1 are all good stuffs.

I just want to know from what the Nissan Ester oil was made. I did my best to find out the answer, but failed. :D

Your asking in the wrong place. Check out the BobIsTheOilGuy forums.
