Clutch tingle?
Yep that may be a new term lol...anyways my clutch when fully depressed and at idle I feel a slight tingle in my foot....like there is something tapping the other side of the pedal (there isn't I know)
This probably isn't an issue or problem I'm just curious what it is. After continued driving it tends to stop. I never experienced this in my 350z, just wandering what it is in the 370. Anyone? Last edited by Premo34WV; 10-22-2009 at 08:20 AM. |

yep, almost like a slight thud on your foot, I asked this about a month ago, apparently its normal. I believe Shabarivas is quoted as saying "Its just a nissan clutch".
Weird clutch sensation..

Nissan's improvement of their clutches/MTs is long overdue.

I get that too. It's like a very faint vibration/pulsation when pushing the pedal. I agree it's very sporadic and tends to go away after driving for a while. I thought something was wrong with the clutch/flywheel or the transmission is not lined up properly with the engine.

The throw out bearing is loud at idle (clutch depressed) and when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I've heard it pretty much from day 1, but I know what it is, and know that it's not uncommon in most cars. Damned Nissan.... good trannys, not so much with the clutch (or viscous :P)

It is the norm for this car so we have to live with it.I hate to hear what it will sound like with maybe 50..60,000 miles on it. Did previous 350 Z cars make the same throwout bearing noise? |

you should hear the throw out bearing on the mx5, some owners have reported on the mx5 forums that it sounds like a diesel sometimes. all up this is no problem, i have had my mx5 now for 42,000 km with no issues.

Makes me wonder if the Z's lack of sound deadening materials has anything to do with the loudness factor, even regarding a noisy throwout bearing . It certainly has to do with the tire noise I experienced on my test drive over some sections of highway. Totally depended on the road surface.
