Good morning.... NOT!!

I go outside heading to work and some bottom feeder broke in my car and tore up the center console in the process.

They didn't steal the radio or air bags but the car was ransacked.

Where they looking for my wheel lock??? They looked every damn where except where the freaking manual is stored, which is where they key is.

I'm glad I didn't see them because I probably would have gotten myself in trouble for putting a few .40 rounds in some well deserving souls.

I don't know why they tore out the center part storage.

Waiting on the police now.

kenchan 05-15-2015 09:29 AM

step1: go F- yourself
step2: done!

Amj2020 05-15-2015 09:34 AM

Think they were trying to upgrade your sound system.

Amj2020 05-15-2015 09:35 AM

You live in Maryland, sure you didnt park in DC or Baltimore?:P

jmayz 05-15-2015 09:35 AM

That sucks! Why can't these people get a job and leave everyone's sh!t alone? How did they get in? Do our cars not have alarms?

pict1 shows broken glass..

Amj2020 05-15-2015 09:37 AM

same thing happened to me, I was finding glass seven years later:P

jmayz 05-15-2015 09:39 AM

Oh I didn't see the broken glass. Even more bummer!

zae757 05-15-2015 09:40 AM

Wow I'm sorry that this happened to you. I get nervous every time I have to leave my Z by itself when I decide to drive the beater. At least everything they did is easily replaceable and or reusable. The insurance company might give you the money to get all new items depending on how they uninstalled some interior parts...

I usually keep my wheel lock in the ----- so it's more difficult to find...

jpkirk 05-15-2015 09:44 AM

Yup. Maryland is suffering a rash of stolen wheels. They do break in looking for wheel locks. Sorry to see this happen. It does suck. Been happening at dealerships as well.

darkphantom 05-15-2015 09:45 AM

Damn! That sucks bro :(

I am going to make sure my wife parks her car RIGHT NEXT to me to dissuade the idiots from even trying!

SurfDog 05-15-2015 09:49 AM

I'm considering either no wheel locks or multiple sets to discourage this. There is no way to stop idiots though. Maybe just paint on some awful curb rash.

jmayz 05-15-2015 09:52 AM

You should post something like this on your car!

POS VETT 05-15-2015 09:59 AM

I'm so sorry to see that.

MagmaRed370z 05-15-2015 10:07 AM

sucks man, I am sorry that happened to you. Any security cameras around or anything like that?

ajm216 05-15-2015 10:34 AM

Looks like they broke/kicked the glass and climbed thru the window.

I'm getting the glass tomorrow from the dealer where I purchased the car for $265. Cleaning up the broken glass and installing the new one will be tomorrows task.

The broken/damaged plastic parts I will get from Ebay.

This was purely amateur hour, they tried to pry the plastic from around the radio.

The starter button was separated found the parts and put it back together hit the button and she came to life!!!!

I have a tilt module installed I guess I need to cover more bases of protection.

jmayz 05-15-2015 10:37 AM

Can you see your car from your apartment? I would seriously look at putting a security camera in a window or something facing it. More than likely the culprits are neighbors and might try to hit it again. You can even get cameras that have audible alarms on motion sensing to let you know someone is near the car.

Firebase99 05-15-2015 11:02 AM

I would genuinely enjoy giving those perps a good old fashioned curb stomp.

So you're going to put her back together yourself? Why not insurance?

Or buying the parts from eBay and giving to the autoshop to pocket more from insurance? :stirthepot:

jmayz 05-15-2015 11:40 AM

Insurance will usually cut him a check for the damage amount minus deductible. He can then take it somewhere to get worked on or DIY and pocket most of that money.

Seems like such a hassle though.

jmayz 05-15-2015 11:52 AM

Although if you are still making payments you may have to let someone else work on it. I had an insurance claim on a car years ago after someone hit my fender. Put a very minor dent in it and insurance gave me 1200 to get it fixed. I didn't want to fix it at all, but because I was making payments they made the check out to me and the car loan bank. The car loan bank would not release the money to me until I paid the car off. So that 1200 sat in their bank for a couple years earning interest (lol) and the day I paid off the car they gave me the check.

Weird, but some times you are at their mercy.

In the future turn your wheels all the way to the left or right in park, it helps deter wheel thieves from targeting your car.

Sorry to hear what happened. :(

I would look into installing a glass and shock sensor.

I've had my rear hatch window busted out by pieces of shit awhile back

Im still pissed those fuks cost me close to $500 in damages.

SurfDog 05-15-2015 12:56 PM

I run a "kill map" on my tune so I can't be hot wired, but I think with the new keys and encryption that's probably overkill. I've also looked into dash cams but they don't seem likely to catch wheel thieves.

kidkotic2001 05-15-2015 01:06 PM

Fuken ay this gets me super upset, $h!ts like this need to be caught and killed. This once caught they should be taken to the the person that they stole from and let that person have at them.

Sorry about the break in I feel for ya. I had a car broken into before and it sucks. BUt at least now you can get a new radio and maybe extra cash from your insurance.

AngelNismo 05-15-2015 01:58 PM

It's much more difficult one to use tools and second pull the wheel out when it's curbed inside the wheel well.

Ah yea, you're right. Makes sense! at least we would be at ease knowing that our front tires are safe but the backs still exposed lol :(

There's a lesser chance they are going to lift your car in the air for 2 when they can use that time for another car to get 4.

nis350 05-15-2015 04:21 PM

Sorry.. That's terrible. Low life was obviously looking for some valuables in your car.

Sorry to hear about your loss there bro.. It always sucks to see this happen and sadly have it happen. I have had it happen too before except most of my stuff wasn't there when I came back.

This is the reason that I park my Z in a parking spot that is literally right in the direct line of vision of any of the Security Cameras in my apartment parking lot. That way if anything ever happens I know to go straight to the video footage.

That way I know who did it and the police do too, then its just a matter of who can get to him first.... Me or the police. :stirthepot:

Hope you get her fixed soon and that she is as beautiful as ever

The price parts will be lower than my deductible. I've done the door glass twice on my G35c so that's not going to be a big deal.

The plastic trim that I do need I'll pick on Ebay.

I like to do my own repairs when possible so I know its done correctly. I've had work at the Infiniti dealership when I had my G35c that was unacceptable.

Streetlife 05-15-2015 07:04 PM

Hope everything works out for you ajm216. Karma will get those fools. Keep ya head up, she'll be back together soon.

Z-Girl 12 05-15-2015 07:10 PM

So sucks...sorry to hear.

lgarcia 05-15-2015 09:38 PM

Sorry to hear this happened, it sucks!
