Uprev Tune?

My Z is roughly 5 years old and has over 50k miles.

I know I should've done it sooner but considering getting uprev tune. (Main reason: throttle lag)

Is it worth it on a 5 year old car?

I do plan on keeping the Z for the near future.

I say go for it! Its never too late to get a tune. If you had gotten it done at 10K miles and now have 50K, would you remove the tune? I don't think so. Therefore, whenever you get it is as good time as any in my book.

If you plan on keeping it for awhile then go for the tune. Even stock, your car will run better. Just make sure to get it tuned by quality tuner.

Absolutely! And you will feel like celebrating as if you bought a new Z. I have beer in hand. Cheers.

hmm... leaning towards getting this

It'll be worth it just to get rid of the throttle lag that's been bothering me of lately

^ This reminds me of a 55 year old lady, that was asked if she wanted a bit of plastic surgery in order to "look better" and perhaps "perform better". Her answer was "hell yea I take it".

Now if you have plans on getting the intakes, you should put that in first and then get it tuned.

FairladyZ10PG 05-09-2015 11:15 PM

^I'm cosidering Takeda over stillen due to installation difficulty lol

Did u install your intake yourself or someone else?

Some places are charging close to $300 just to install the G3s...

So I'm most likely going to tackle the install myself

Zbrah 05-09-2015 11:25 PM

Save yourself the $300! The install isn't bad, if i can do it with just barehands and a butter knife you can too! The hardest part for me was removing the bumper because it was my first time doing that on the Z, so many damn screws:shakes head:

FairladyZ10PG 05-09-2015 11:30 PM

^I've taken off my front bumper so many times I can do it with my eyes closed lol

Guess I'm going to have to contact "someone" if he can get it for me lol

Zbrah 05-09-2015 11:35 PM

Yea after that first time it's a breezy now because I had to clean and re-oil my filters. If you need a hand to install drop by my place we can knock it out in my garage.

FairladyZ10PG 05-09-2015 11:40 PM

Thanx :)

I hope it won't come to that

Lol don't be scurred i'll be gentle, with the car I mean. But ya it's easy, just follow the diy and wrap your ac lines in some rubber so it doesn't rub through the pipes.
