Help me end my 2 yr car search

Hello everyone.

I have been researching cars for a long time.

I keep coming back to the z...

I first test drove a base model and thought it was ok.. then i test drove a touring with rev match and was like... this is amazing !.. so i thought if i bought one it would be touring or sport with rev match.
I'm sure you get this alot on here but i wanna ask these dumb questions.
After talking to a nissan rep about possible reliability issues he said go for a more newer one if you get one. like 2011 on up.. for the year 2010 consumer reports said the minor trans problems and body integrity was average .
but they said for it was the most reliable sports car out of all the sports cars

so my question to actual owners is what problems have you had ? I see there is also some starting problems

I'm gonna be using this car for a long drive to work daily. I love the looks on the car .. so tell me your problems.

To answer some of your question the Z particularly the 2009-2010 models have the following.

1. CSC failures 2009 -up
2. Steering lock failures. 2009 models
3. Oil temp going limp mode when driven hard on track- need oil cooler

What Zoren said, plus fuel starvation on long right turns when Z is low on gas. CSC is only for manual transmissions. For more in info. Type, problems 370Z.com in google.

This.
I've got over 200,000 mile on mine, and have only ever had the first two of these, as well as a couple other problems, Fuel sending unit, was the only other not ware item. I've had a couple odd things. see thread on it. Search problems after 200,000 miles

2012 and up sport+touring. The '12+ didn't have the dreaded steering lock and also came with a small factory oil cooler. The oil cooler is not good enough for tracking the car but for DD purposes should be fine.

There's nothing wrong with the manuals but you just have to know that you will be replacing the CSC at some point. There are a couple of great aftermarket options that are rock solid.
