fairladyZ33 weight difference to 350z. with links.
Nissan 350Z
Nissan Fairlady Z Specification- J's Garage Export - importing jdm cars and parts from Japan - its very hard to find Z34 weight comparisons from jdm to US BUT was easy to show the difference on the z33. As a general theory that the japanese versions of this car is lighter is supported through seperate articles on each car. One showing the fairlady to be around 1480kg = app. 3200 lbs which is shown in j garage. And wiki search of the american car shows to be over 1600kg= app 3500lbs. This supports what I stated about my friends fairlady being lighter than the 350z and also shows here a probability of this being possible with the Z34. You wanted links. U got em. As I stated my friends car was somewhere around 288lbs lighter. These 2 sights support what I said. |

Chief,
Wasn't it some comment about metallurgy that got you all those nasty responses? I don't think anyone will deny that US safety regs will get you a heavier car. Crash beams in the doors of US models comes to mind immediately, not sure if they have them in Japan.

I can't tell if those are the same model years. But this site:
2005 Nissan 350Z 35th Anniversary Edition Price, Specs & More | RSportsCars.com Has the 2005 35th anniversary edition, weighing in at the following Weight lb (kg): 3225 (1464) 2005 Nissan 350Z | Nissan : this one has 1474 kgs. Your JDM site claims weights of 1480. So...wait, USDM was lighter?? |

What a joke!!!!
You have got to be kidding me? This is getting beyond ridiculous How many times are we going to have to go through this same joke. Once again as was stated before by several people the last time you brought this up.
The JDM version very well possibly could be 100lbs or so lighter due to it having less safety equipment however it is doubtful they changed too much because that would/could drive up cost and complications on the assembly line. I don't think any one denied that fact. What was ludicrous was your statement about How there was more carbon fiber and titanium, and that they use different metallurgy specs because of the safety regulations being less stringent. Quote:

Dude to show how people misconstrue what other people say. I never said they use different metallurgy. I just said they are allowed to use more lightweight materials. Al. The metal is the same. Some ares are less reinforced than others. Then I mentioned also that titanium is widely used in jdm aftermarket parts. When I say they use more lightweight material. I'm saying this... A aluminum reiforcement on a car versus a steel reinforcement creates more weight in the steel reinforcement. The japanese don't use steel as a reinforcement IN SOME CARS. We in the us do. We do not accept aluminum as a legitimate reinforcement. This is why we had issues getting the skyline n gtr. The G37 and skyline are not the same in chassis reinforcement. This is what I'm saying. Most of you guys I thought were seasoned enthusiasts and understood this concept and didn't need links to show this. And no it wasn't just metallurgy. A lot of guys told me to prove that the Z n fairlady were different in weight. I have been getting insulted over it all week. Then made fun of. I didn't get the links cuz people were rude. N wen I asked for real enthusiasts. It wasn't to hurt peoples feelings. It was more to converse on a functional mod level than who has the best Z n crap like that. Or just dyno sheets. (Which are cool but need to be finished with some accel times. When my Z comes in. I will be more than happy to go to TMS n laser the ride to get u that info. But I would like to see others too ).A lot of senseless arguing lately. Right now a new 7at and 6m thread for the hundreth time just popped up. N though I think the question dude is asking is legit. I bet sum1 will go in there and fu€k it up. That whole metallurgy thing. Totally misconstrued. A lot of lil clicks in here. Independant minded or newbies or people that have less knowledge get ridiculed up in here. My statement in the blog bout this forum goin down the tubes.... When I do a search of threads written b4 may. A lot of good stiuff. No chastizing. And people teaching. Now... its mock fest. Everyone is clicked up n lookin to find peoples weaknesses. Its stupid. We can all learn from each other. But that's not the goal here. Racial comments like I don't speak guido, or dumb comments like slap whoever told u that in the face is extremely common and disrespectful. And it causes a$$hole rebuttals to cum from me. Which I shouldn't even waste my time but anyway. Here's your proof. Nuff said. Yeah there's slang in my writing. Yeah there's a couple typos. I ain't fixin sh1t. This how its stayin. N yeah I'm a fu€k1n sp1k. A puerto rican sp1k. But I'm a sp1k that keepz it gully 24/7 n fu€k wh@t any1 has 2 say. So no I'm no GUIDO! IF U GUNNA CALL ME OUT? DO IT RIGHT! GET IT RIGHT... that ones for joe d. Wit a bullet. |
