Default Need some suggestions!

I have a 11' 370 in gun metal and I love this car! It's the sport touring package and I'm looking at modding some things. I sold my 05' G35 coupe with a Vortech supercharger that had 462hp to the wheels so I'd like to add so hp to my Z but not looking to add a turbo or sc on my Z right now. I know this is a matter of opinion and may spark some debate, but I'd like to add dual CAI, HFCs, etc. I'm thinking that I'd like all aftermarket parts to be from the same company, but if one company makes the best exhaust and another makes the best HFCs then I wouldn't be opposed to going with different manufacturers. Which company, in your opinions, make the best aftermarket products for my 11' Z? I was kinda leaned my to Stillen, but Injen, Berk and a few others make nice stuff too. Also, I was considering staying with all Nismo parts but I need help! Thanks in advance guys and I'll get some pics uploaded asap!

Stop right there! You say you don't want to add boost....right now. If you plan on ever going FI in the future and your ultimate goal is to get anywhere near the power you had in the G then save your pennies until you have enough to add boost. It will be cheaper in the long run.

But if you can't wait then I would recommend either the Stillen G3 or Takeda Stage II CAI. Fast Intentions exhaust has the best build I have seen on parts and adds power. They also make HFC and test pipes for you to stick with one company. I chose to go with Berk HFC paired with my FI exhaust. Of course there are other choices from other manufacturers. Take a look around and search on the forum in order to make the best decision for you.

I REALLY appreciate your advice and the only reason I'm leaning toward staying away from sc or turbo is my previous Vortech V2 was pushing 8k brand new and I would prefer to not drop that again. At this point in my life I'm not overly concerned with my quarter mile speed, but would still like to pump my Z up a bit unless you all have some less expensive options on a turbo or sc that I'm not privy to. Thanks again for your help

I was pleasantly suprised by how much "sportiness" my Z gained after I merely upgraded my clutch/flywheel and my brake rotors. My next upgrade will be a Stillen CAI and FI exhaust as well (with a Uprev tune). Also I am contemplating upgrading my radiator and putting on some coilovers for a slight drop. In a few days I will get my new wheels and tires on...It feels like Christmas!

The Z seems to take to small upgrades very well.

BTW Speed I've priced out the Nismo CAI and Stillen G3 and they are comparable in price... Do you feel that the G3 is superior to the Nismo?

The Nismo R-Tune CAI is likely a very comparable intake to the others. However they have not been as closely documented as the Stillen G3 nor the Takeda Stage II CAI in overall gains. Also you will have to relocate or get a smaller washer fluid reservoir as it is similar in design as AEM and Injen.

For my money between the two I would pick the Stillen G3. Although my money actually went to the Takeda Stage II.

OP I went with the Nismo CAI for the mere fact that i didn't need to cut anything. The black finish also looks nice. I'm also running Berk TPs and Fast Intentions CBE with an uprev tune and the car is running great. In the end it comes down to what you like. Although sound clips don't do much justice, you can get a general idea of what the different options sound like.

Note: You do not have to cut anything with the Takeda Stage II if you do not want to. But it is like running while someone is lightly strangling you. It is not very optimal airflow since it is pinched by the core support. To get the most gains out of the Takeda Stage II it is recommended to cut the core support same as the instructions for the Stillen G3.

I'd rather cut a little material from the core support than to relocate or get a smaller washer fluid reservoir. But to each their own.

Stillen G3s are the general consensus best intake. But I am very pleased with my R2C CAI black chrome intakes - they look great on my 2011 Gun Metallic Z IATs are a little higher than most CAIs because they are only semi-CAI. But their filters are the best hands down, and the heat shield is the best design out there.

Fast Intentions for exhaust and HFC/TPs

Tune - Uprev has been around for years, while Ecutek is the newcomer on the scene.

If you want/need more then you can look at headers and intake manifold. I would just do research on each item. All of the questions you could possibly ask have been asked before. Use google and in front of your search string add the text site:the370z.com

You have to go with Fast Intentions cat back exhaust. It has one of the most, if not the highest, gains for the 370z.....not to mention the orgasmic tone. Also affordable.

I got Takeda stage II over the Stillen mainly because of the fact that I didn't have to cut anything. It's also significantly cheaper as opposed to Stillen 3G. Got mine for $399 shipped!

As for HFC, Berk or Stillen is a solid choice. But I prefer TP over HFC if you don't mind the cabin noise too much.

And with the fine tune, you'd be pushing upwards of 320whp+

Stupid question... will the FI cat-back make any significant gains on a NISMO? I only ask because if I've read correctly the midpipes are different on those cars and that's where most of the extra 18hp supposedly comes from...

Stop in to the Indy cars and coffee on the northside. There have been quite a few z cars there lately. There are two local z clubs on facebook. Indy z club and Indy Modified Infinity and Nissan. Both clubs have been making appearances there lately.

Indy cars and coffee is on FB too.

not sure where that comes from... from what i've seen almost every exhaust promises you the same amount of power.
