Road Kill

While driving, I noticed at the last second that there was road kill in the middle of the road. Not wanting to swerve off road or risk drifting sideways, I drove to where I would drive over it and it would go down the center of my car and between the two tires. Well unfortunately, this road kill was a massive bird, as i thought it was originally a bowling ball or helmet. After painfully listening to the two clunks, I pulled into a gas station and looked underneath and all looked fine, with a few chunks of bird meat stuck here and there.

Has anyone ever had to experience this kinda thing? I'm just hoping nothing got damaged.

Not on the Z but when we were kids my dad ran over a pig. Interesting how the pig kept going.

This is not roadkill but the cow just kept going.

23 seconds in.....Male cow to female "hey, I'm not done yet come back here"

My initiation was an armadillo that had not been lowered enough by previous traffic or buzzards. I had less than 2000 miles on my Z. Lots of noise, but no lasting damage as far as I can tell.

My car is at the body shop right now. I hit a Jack Rabbit on the way home from Las Vegas a week ago this past Friday. The front bumper, carbon fiber splitter, Zspeed under tray, and both wheel well tubs are trashed. I never saw the rabbit as it was on a suicide mission and darted out of the median and the rest is history. Pretty unnerving andnasty sounding.

In my Miata that was lowered, tried to "straddle" a dead groundhog. No go, there were chunks of it flying out the back of the car. The cars following were all trying to avoid the flying stew. No damage to the girly car. Also in the Miata, (not lowered at that point) I ran over a dead raccoon that had been pre-flatened by 2 Mustangs in front of me. We were in a convoy on our way to an out of town autocross event. The front of my tire trailer was covered in leftover bits from the raccoon, It was probably a good thing the 2 cars in front tenderized it a lot, again no damage

That sucks Bob. Does this mean you won't make it to Autocon?

I'm coming regardless, I hope the car is ready to go, but if not I'm coming anyway! It's too good an opportunity to reconnect with you and the others from SoCal, meet Mr Clifford and Jason Gale plus a bunch of Z fans from all over the country.

Oh yeah, this sounds familiar. I just repaired all this damage on my 1990 300zxtt back in the day. Said part was not a month later it all happened again due to a crazy cat that ran out in front of me. Best advice I can give is don't try to straddle road kill, and miss anything you can that darts in front of you if you can do it safely.

HAHAHA!!! Dude I'm at work right now and this literally made me laugh out loud right now. I lost it at "flying stew". Thanks for the laugh, my friend.
