You have to understand that the general populace doesn't care AT ALL about what they drive. It's a totally different mentality between us who care about every aspect of our cars, and the soccer moms that drive Yukons all day doing 95mph. Yes, you're going to piss people off. Just remember that those people are in a hurry to get another mocha frappeciano with sprinkles. If you have another fellow car enthusiast behind you, he/she will be fully understanding of the agony you go through each time you find a dip in the road and need to crawl at 5mph.
My advice. Drink a mocha frappeciano with sprinkles while going 5mph over a dip.

Now I care about my car and I'll do what I can to avoid damaging it, but I also do so in a way where I'm not inconveniencing others. I've also been on the other end of someone slowing to 5mph to go through a dip when coming off the highway. Not only do people miss the turn signal because of these dicks (even if you're not in a hurry, everyone has felt the frustration of missing one due to the incompetence of another driver), they're also causing an unsafe scenario by purposely going slower than the speed of normal traffic. So no, the behavior is not justified just because your car is precious to you. A little empathy for your fellow driver goes a long way. These are not your private road ways.

Not sure what people have done to you in the past, but what I'm describing is hardly that...and yes, you will wait for my car to turn or progress at poorly paved intersections, potholes, uneven shopping mall entrances, speed bumps...At some of these places I even do this in my other cars (DD)because the roads are in such bad condition, but I care that I don't destroy my cars...others may not, but they are not MY problem...If the road is in good shape, no way I'm slowing down in the Z ![]()

That being said, even at stock height I encounter plenty of driveways that require a 45 degree approach at near idle speed just to avoid scraping horribly. But I can't say I've ever had someone honk at me for it. OP is in NY, and from everything I've experienced getting honked at is a regular occurrence for driving there ![]() ![]()

![]() At least it's not a daily occurrence. Maybe try putting on your blinker and then switching to your hazards as you really slow down to start the turn. I might get dash/rear cams for evidence against anyone who might chose to "bump" you out of the way.

Hey i used to own several bimmers ![]() Quote:
I agree on a lot of what you said. My old M3 used to be low but it was not low enough to where i had to go 3mph through dips, nor did i have to angle my car and slowly crawl up driveways/parking lots to the point where it was inconvenient for people behind me. Yes i slowed down but it wasn't always needed and when it was needed i went as fast as i could. If there was a bad street i would take another route but that was if the street had unusually tall speed bumps. For the sake of people behind me and not destroying my car i never went lower. The problem is that some of the "slammed" and or "hellaflush" folks are begging for attention, good or bad, they seem to bask in it. And those are the inconsiderate types, it's true that some get an air suspension which solves the problem but a lot of the hellaflush ricers don't have an air suspension and they do not seem to mind coming to a full stop and then reversing and repositioning their car if they begin to scrape, they don't seem to mind coming to a full stop around speed bumps and either doing a 180 or trying to strategically position their car as to avoid scrapping. Just for fun: https://youtu.be/5Vo378mO9q8 |

Why would you ever, ever lower ur car in NY? Pot holes is the reason why i am at stock height. Dude it might look kool, but its not useful at all, in ny at least. Plus you cant enjoy the real feel of the car.
U remind me of the hellaflush lowrider i saw on FDR few month back, not only that he was driving slow it looked like a tub boat in a hurricane storm on those pot holes. P.S. dont ever ever take the FDR even if ur in a hummer.

So I presume with your logic, you would say that the person in the wheelchair in the crosswalk would be selfish for holding up traffic? As a human being, I can wait the extra 30 seconds for them to safely cross, rather than being traumatized about witnessing that person being possibly struck and killed by another driver that couldn't "accommodate" them.
