I have had a moment to reflect on the relatively profound nature of your accomplishment that you have chosen to share with us, and I have decided that I should tell you about a story about myself when I was sixteen.

My grandmother was a smoker for many years of her life. One holiday during my year of being sixteen years of age, I visited her with much of my family.

She had quit smoking, and she had chosen this moment over thanksgiving turkey dinner to tell me the importance of never smoking so I don't get cancer.

"Wee RicerX, young lad - never partake in the smoking of tobacco products. Or smokeless tobacco products. Or asbestos. Your health is what will take you through the wonders of life, and even though you don't even have a Nissan Z at your young age, if you invest in your health, not only should you avoid cancer by avoiding smoking, you may even see yourself in a Z car one day, driving through Scottsdale, Arizona, and observing youth with such rare opportunities, and guide them as I guide you."

Yes, Grandmother, I shall.

So I embarked upon a journey of health. I avoided areas where people smoked. I didn't go to bars. I worked out and did lots of cardio. (Before you ask, I even lift.) Pumping iron, PR. Pumping iron, PR. Goose and mixers. Pumpin iyon. (I digress, my heritage is sneaking out).

I took supplements. I regularly engaged in chiropractic care. I ate clean, lean, mean food. I rarely partook in sugary sweet ice cream and other tasty delights.

I worked SO HARD for SO MANY YEARS to maintain my health and honor my grandmother. And your posts gave me cancer anyway.
