Hindsight being 20/20 I would of paid that when I bought mine if I could do it over. Only thing I would change is I would do the whole hood as that line will become more visible over time, more so depending on the color and how it is cared for.

There is some debate that if done right that dirt/debris cannot get under the edge of the clear bra. From what I have seen this is not always the case and when dirt/debris starts to collect along that edge then the "invisible" line is no longer invisible to the naked eye. I am more picky than that and can see the line even when it is first applied. Just my

I did the whole hood for that reason and used Expell not Scotchguard or 3M.

I don't know about white, but mine is brilliant silver and I thought it would be noticeable, but really, unless you are a couple of inches away from the car and looking for it, you won't notice it.

I got the same as you are getting but he used 3M Ventureshield if I remember correctly.

Sounds like a good price, a full front bumper would be about $350 or so.

The question you gotta ask though, if you do a partial hood, would you be kicking yourself if you got hit with a rock on the part of the hood not protected?
You'll say "darn, maybe I should have had the entire hood done."
Too late.

Plus the line that you won't see at first won't be invisible when you get dust on it. And no, a properly applied PPF won't get stuff under the film but it'll hide along the edge, and you'll see it.

Just splurge and get the whole hood, thank us later. You're welcome.

Oh, and ask for proof that it's the brand he says it is. He may say it's XPEL or Suntek but he's really giving you 3M Ventureshield. Let him show you the box the film comes in, or some documentation showing what brand it is. I've had that happen in the past with tint saying it was what I was buying but really it was a lower quality tint, he still charged the higher price. All film and tint looks the same, so you should be shown it is what he says it is.

I hope he didn't charge you too much, Ventureshield is pretty much the cheapest film on the market and not exactly the best compared to XPEL and Suntek who are the best.

partial hood and fender sucks, i speak from experience.

i installed it, and the next day i tore it off because of the visible line.
if you're having a shop install it, makes sure they use the rolls, not pre-cut.

i mentioned this many times, but precut is for hobbists like me that install them at home.

Jesus christ i did not expect full hood and fender to be so high. Called a local guy he seemed very good at the job. Laser cut film. Full hood fenders headlights bumper mirror and part of side doors, $1790. Free claybar detail! Lmao

You're not that far off. I have a Subaru BRZ and the full hood alone was $800. Full front bumper was about $400. Full front quarter panels were about $200 each. $1600 to cover the entire car in front of the doors and windshield. Still worth it! I got a bit of a discount overall because I also got my full sides and rear bumper done too. I paid about $2800 for the entire car except the roof and trunk lid.

And again, find out what product he's using and have him prove it is what he says it is. If he charges you that much, make sure its EXPEL or Suntek.

Any 3M product at that price is too much. Also he should cut it himself with a machine or custom cut it, if he buys it pre-cut, it won't protect as much area because they leave a margin for error in installing and the gaps are bigger. If you're paying that much to protect your car, it better cover everything.

You could just have the whole front end repainted cheaper than that. Are people really paying $1500+ for a clear bra?

Exactly why I haven't done it yet. There is also a small chance of the clear bra pulling off the factory paint when you go to remove it.
