I drove from Melbourne to Adelaide and back in a weekend (Friday morning to Sat night) for Round 1 of the SA State Sports Car Championships, 1620km round trip.
I regularly travel Melbourne/Goulburn and back for race events. These are in my Ute towing a trailer/race car. We also travel Melbourne to Mildura to see my (elderly) father which is 1100km round trip (in SWMBO Murano usually). Have also done Melbourne-Perth (3400km one-way) and Melbourne-Darwin (3750 one-way) a couple of times ... just because I could !! Travel distances in Australia are large .... as these maps show ..
