Sergio Marchionne had a big impact on Chrysler, Fiat & Ferrari

So i made the mistake of trading my 12 nismo in for a 15 GT. Yes, it was fasted, but i regretted letting go of the car almost instantly. That electric steering plus the fact that its so heavy made the feel like a dream to drive. Long story short im back in a 12 nismo lol

I was really close to getting a 17gt or waiting for the 18gt before I got my 11 nismo. Ive always been a nissan guy but I learned how to work on cars with my uncles foxbody so ive always had a soft spot for mustangs. Ended up with the Z cause it very well may be the last generation of manual nissans. The subpar ford build quality and the MT82 problems was also a turn off haha.

I'm still a Nissan fan myself. I purchased a 17 leftover Titan and pretty happy with it.

Yes it's hard to go from the Z to a Camaro, Mustang, or even a Challenger/Charger from the handling perspective but there is nothing like the brutal horsepower coming from the big three these days. My Hellcat handles pretty good for a muscle car but it does have its limits. I have also been to point of interest at the drag strips. While autox and road courses are cool and all, I just prefer the strip. I loved my Z but I never used it for it's intended purpose and it is not a good daily driver kind of car.

All nice cars. All personal taste.

A buddy of mine has a Hellcat, and I will tell you, it's pretty hard to wipe the smile off your face listening to the beautiful noise that car makes, and it's stupid fast.

The Demon with it's near slick steam roller tires all the way around even handles, but the point has been made that it's a big car and really doesn't compare to a small sports car in the twisties.

I like my Z. I wanted a RWD manual transmission fun car, and having owned 4 other Z's in the past, and having found a deal I couldn't pass up on a 2 year old 10k mile private party sale way below KBB with no sales tax, it was a no brainer.

I haven't had the latest generation of domestics in the driveway but I did own a 2000 LS1 Camaro that was a whole lot of fun. I do miss how comfortable the seats were in that car and wish the Z was even close there. And I miss T-tops too, which I had on 3 of the 5 Z's I've owned. (2 '83 turbo cars and an 85 Z31)

The VQ will never put down the torque numbers those big V8s put down, and it's that torque that launches you off the line. The only reason the Z ever hung with the pony cars, even back when it came out is due to the weight advantage.

Still, go drive what you want to drive and have fun with it. Just remember when you buy a domestic pony car, you're buying the same thing 80k+ other people bought that year. With a Z, the club is a wee bit more exclusive.

The only thing that compares to a 370z is a Corvette Grand Sport. It is twice the money and everyone knows what it is. You can hide out in a 370z and nobody is the wiser.
