Got my 7AT up to 148mph in 5th. I was planning on redlining just through 4th which was good to 120mph, then said what the hell shifted into 5th and just kept my foot on the gas. Was a blast, the 370z screams at high speeds I love this car! As far as drivability at 148mph was still good.

I've pegged and cruised at that in the 370z for a few miles it fluctuated between 155-158. It's cool when the soft touch speed limiter hits hauls up to 155 then all of a sudden won't go any faster VVEL gets dropped down to limit your speed thats why people keep thinking the car runs out of power. Get your speed limiter removed if you don't think it'll go fast enough for you.
Stopped by an officer at 130 ticketed me for 120 cuz his laser was 3/4 mile out and thats the legal accuracy limit in WI and with the brakes on this car by the time i was .5 mile from him i was down below 80. Shocked the hell out of him when he saw how fast this car gets up and down from those speeds. Had a good conversation with him about it. They love bold faced honesty (pulled over right away) and i knew i was screwed anyway but i got myself out of a reckless. Disclaimer: don't speed it's good way to lose your cat-back money |

Careful Gents,
Remember in many area's now, 30 mph over, and you get a free ride down town. Besafe and enjoy the Z, but be smart about where you decided to air it out.

Ooo I want a free ride!
I remember getting a ticket for 95 in a 55 many years ago. The stated that I was actually going faster, but didn't wan to take me to jail. It was late and the roads were empty, plus he was an airport cop. Got lucky but it was still expensive. I was in a light blue Accord LXi hatchback 5sp btw

Did 140mph without trying and was able to make confident lane changes.

Grand touring cars are designed specifically for high speed highway style driving. Sports cars like the Z are designed for complex track strings with hard twists and turns that a car like the G would not be able to achieve as quickly and accurately. |

Lecture over PS--When I was younger (I'm assuming most of you going that fast are also younger, as you start valuing life more as you get old and have people depending on you) I had my 911 up to about 145. That was plenty fast.
