FloorJack placement at pinchweld

I know this thread has been also beaten to hell, but after long research i never found a clear answer, There are 4 tabbed pinchwelds where i can place the

Default FloorJack placement at pinchweld

I know this thread has been also beaten to hell, but after long research i never found a clear answer,

There are 4 tabbed pinchwelds where i can place the jackstands. It was also mentioned that only these tab areas are reinforced and should be used.

But if i'm lifting the car from the side and not the front brace or rear differential, can i jack the car up slightly left or right of these "tabbed" pinchwelds?
I can't jack the car up at the tab and place the jackstand at the same spot.

You can but not on the weld itself. You'll need to make an adapter.

even at the stock points the scissors jack sits on a bump on the inside of the rail.

Yes, i will have a grooved hocky puck adaptor.

I'm wondering if any of the pinch weld rail area other than the tabbed area is reinforced enough to be jacked up from

You should be able to jack it up and do not see any reason why you can't lift one either side of the tab. My only point is that you'll be going far out on either side of the tab because the base of the jack stand will take up space.

You could jack on the tabbed pinch weld and place a jackstand on the frame rail

Don't place the weight of the car on the rail itself...unless you want to look like a HS kid doing his first oil change without adult supervision..

To clarify, are u talking about the actual pinch weld
when u say "rails?"

yah, the pinch weld i refer to as rails sometimes. dont place the car on that, it will bend. you dont want your car looking like some novice messed with it.

with the slotted puck, the weight should not rest on that rail.

Here's another jack stand placement option - see the blue boxes. This is the location I use when I work on a Z with aftermarket side skirts in the way of the pinch rail.

Need something like this. Then you can just run up a wall if you want the underside showing. Car body rotates around the seats

I cut up an old pair of shoes and use the foam/rubber sole as a cushion on the pinch weld so it won't bend
