FloorJack placement at pinchweld
I know this thread has been also beaten to hell, but after long research i never found a clear answer,
There are 4 tabbed pinchwelds where i can place the jackstands. It was also mentioned that only these tab areas are reinforced and should be used. But if i'm lifting the car from the side and not the front brace or rear differential, can i jack the car up slightly left or right of these "tabbed" pinchwelds? I can't jack the car up at the tab and place the jackstand at the same spot. Last edited by street2soul; 03-22-2015 at 08:48 PM. |

You should be able to jack it up and do not see any reason why you can't lift one either side of the tab. My only point is that you'll be going far out on either side of the tab because the base of the jack stand will take up space.

with the slotted puck, the weight should not rest on that rail. |

Here's another jack stand placement option - see the blue boxes. This is the location I use when I work on a Z with aftermarket side skirts in the way of the pinch rail.
From this thread: Using Jack Stand...where to contact point?

Need something like this. Then you can just run up a wall if you want the underside showing. Car body rotates around the seats
