They told me it covered all oil changes including mobile one full synthetic I don't have a garage or a place to change my oil so it seemed like a good deal until I find out it doesn't cover synthetic. So now I'll just bring my own damn oil and give them the middle they have to change it atleast...

Here are pictures after they "so called clay barred, buffed, waxed, and polished" Most of those scratches weren't there. Also the wheel repair guy repainted the whole rim the service adviser confirmed it looked great that was in the first week. When I go to pick up my car all of a sudden he tells me oh the paint started coming off your wheel but we didn't pressure wash it then why tell me the day of, and mention pressure washer?
May be hard to see in these but I have them blown up and sent them to original dealer. How the hell do you make a car worse... They are very noticeable in person and they even warned me as I walked up to my car and I said it wasn't this bad. The circles weren't there the cloudiness or the scratches especially all over the drivers side door. Of course they denied everything. I also stated non of the spots are cleared up and they said ya we now know it's all in the clear. Pretty much gave me a big middle finger and walked away even accused me of lying saying how "well" they took care of my car and parked it away from others and the detail-er brought all the scratches to his attention first... Come to find out it's not a professional detail-er just a shop rat found out from a reputable professional paint shop that did my si and does warranty paint for auto companies. |

I almost went through a similar ordeal as you. I drove 6 hours to pick up a g37. I had the salesman do a walk around and said it looked great. He also insisted in letting him do the financing and he would beat my credit union. When I get there the car looks great until you get close to it. It had scratches and chips all over it that had rust showing. I was like hell no I'm not buying this car. He let me test drive a brand new 370z and tried to get me to buy it. I really wanted it but I thought I should get something with a back seat since I have 2 kids. My awesome wife reminded me that I sold my bike to get this car and it could only carry 2 people so it was alright to get a Z. I refused to buy from that dealership and bought my Z a few weeks later. I got 1.99% through my credit union, I never found out what my apr would have been but I bet it wouldn't have been that good.

Way too long to read but when I recent my had an issue with my 2014 Nismo CPO frpm a dealership that wasn't being compliant I contacted Nissan North America and made a complaint. Funny how it was solved in 5 days. I suggest you do the same.

Cancel that extended "warranty" ASAP and don't go back to that dealer. Have you considered you have an aftermarket flywheel / clutch attributing to the clutch noise? I know it's highly unlikely with 7700 miles but you never know...

What the he77 I just read? I would have left when they started with the financial numbers. They played you like a fiddle. CPO's are not what they're cracked up to be. It's just another used car with a sticker on it to jack up the price.

Have you considered crashing the car into the dealer show room? Aim for the GT-R if they have one. Make sure it's enough that insurance will total out the car for you. Claim that the work the dealer did on the car caused something to break and ultimately the accident. It just happened to fail next to the dealership.

I read through MOST of it. The CPO checklist is useless at this point unless you have it in your sales contract. Bottom line is that anything they told you that is not in writing and signed is irrelevant now. The only thing enforceable it what is in the contract. Look closely at all the documents you signed. Anything beyond what is contained in the signed documents is just salesman-speak.

This. If it's not on paper, it didn't happen. Sorry to hear about all of that, but you needed to walk out once they started playing games with the numbers.

OP, you got taken for a ride, which alot of it you could have avoided.
1. you never EVER trust a used car salesman. 2. you should never rely on verbal confirmations. you should have requested adamantly for pictures on the specifics you were looking for (i.e. pics of rims for any curb rash). 3. never ever give into the sign/drive gimmic. you're basically buying a car in the blind without knowing anything about it. 4. you should have gotten a pre-approval from your bank, which they would give you a draft which is equivalent to a blank check for up to a certain amount your bank approves you for. i did this and used the verbiage "i can buy this car in cash" and that will give you the upper edge when negotiating. 5. get everything that was agreed upon IN WRITING. verbal confirmations, again, means nothing. 6. even if you have multiple inquiries on your credit, if it is done at one time, it shouldn't have taken that big of a hit on your credit. 7. buying a car, new or used, is like playing poker. you never show your cards and in your case, it seems like you really wanted the car, which is fine, but don't let the dealer know that. make them think that you can walk out at anytime and that you could go to another dealer to do business. i was in the market for a 370Z for a while, and when i was seriously looking, it took me 8 months to find mine. i made many long trips, spent countless hours, walked out of many dealerships after giving them the middle finger, etc., but when I found the right one, it was worth the wait. I wouldn't just throw in the towel regarding your own lawyer vs. arbitration. I think that arbitration baloney refers to a new car warranty and failure of the mfr./dealer to live up to their responsibilities.
Ask your family, friends, relatives, etc. if they can steer you to a trusted attorney that you can run this situation by. Print out your story that you posted here, and summarize each paragraph with handwritten notes in the margins so the lawyer doesn't have to agonize over each and every paragraph looking for that one magic bullet that might save the day for you. This will help him remember the important stuff after you leave his office after having met with him. Yes, you might risk losing another $100-200 just to meet with him (FIND OUT JUST HOW MUCH BEFORE YOU AGREE TO MEET WITH HIM), but this might turn out to be the best post-sale money you have spent so far. You might get lucky and he might charge you less or even zero for the first meeting. You might get super lucky and have him instill so much fear in the dealer that he will convince them that the very best thing for them to do is to buy back the car and make you whole again. As an example, a lawyer may look at things like this: "I have been told at Nissan local dealer of and Chris Myers that it should not have passed the CPO inspection due to the aesthetics not even including the functionality problems with the clutch and rattle." as some failure of the dealer to deliver the product as described. I'm stopping short of suggesting even more severe claim against the dealer because I'm not a lawyer and I don't know the law. But I have had a lawyer in the past scare the you know what out of a dealer into returning my money for something he did not deliver as promised, despite all the legalese this dealer tried to hide behind. So don't let them just bully yiu around . At least put up some sort of a fight. |

But hey, it would be so easy for me to sit here and just critiquie your decisions and so forth wouldnt it? But I wont, as I feel empathy towards you. I hope it works out. |

Man this would put a big rain cloud over the excitement of getting your Z. I feel sorry for what has happened but I first you should have got it in writing via email from the internet salesman the agreed upon $30, 000 OTD price. The window tint and curb rash could have been worked out but as soon as walking in and they jack the price up to $33, 000 I would have walked out. I also would have had my pre approved bank financing in hand . Since you had no written confirmation on agreed price or the pre qualified finance they knew they had you especially since you drove such a long distance.
My husband bought a 2014 dodge ram 1500 in October. By the time we got to look at that truck it was getting dark. It is black too. The next day he found a real deep scratch. Nothing we can do and I am not sure if he would of not gotten it but its a learning point for us to not buy in the dark. The dealership we were at though (third time working with them) are pretty good . From my search on 370Z in my area I will be traveling outside of state . I can get much more for the same price in my budget going outside of my state. I am researching and getting my ducks in a row before I do so, but I also will be prepared to leave empty handed and just consider the trip a weekend get away with the hubby. Not sure if you just need to get the clear coat fix for your paint on the car , but my dealership charges $100 for it. Not to bad. I can clearly see the buffed scratches on your car and that sucks big time. I have heard black cars have a tendency to show those marks more easily. Keep us updated and hopefully it will work out...it probably will take time because they are probably counting on you to give up your fight. Last edited by NissanGirl43; 03-22-2015 at 12:34 PM. |
