Not sure about the OP uses, but for the AT, sometimes it's nice to use the shifter and not the paddles because if you are coming to a stop sign/light,

Not sure about the OP uses, but for the AT, sometimes it's nice to use the shifter and not the paddles because if you are coming to a stop sign/light, you can just pop it into auto and let the car downshift all the way. Our equivalent of rolling to a stop in neutral I guess.
