So being 22 this was the (realistic) car of my dreams and I said I wouldn't touch it. A few months in a have a complete exhaust system. And a dozen other cheap mods and I'm only getting started. The fact you signed up for a forum shows you have interest in modding. Just do iiiiit.

With that said, can this Z be left untouched and still have fun with it? |

I had my 2012 sport for 3 years, stock; now I drive a 2015 sport, stock. Each one was/is plenty enough fun for this old man (64).
For extra kicks via mods, I ride a 2003 Harley-Davidson SuperGlide with 147,000 miles, 95" big bore kit, high compression heads, .510" lift Anderson TW37 gear drive cams, 42mm Mukuni flat slide carburetor, Cycle Shack high flow mufflers, RNK Billet high flow air intake, and Daytona TwinTech programmable ignition. BTW, this bike still uses the original drive belt, original clutch, and original primary chain, and the bottom end and transmission have never needed servicing except for oil changes. Nope. Not if you count a oil cooler as a mod

I have a 40th anny. And plan to do only minimal mods. Illuminated kick plates, stillen exhaust and tint will probably be the extent of the mods I do. Also, it really bothers me when I see other 40th models highly modded. Why not just buy a sport model if you're going to completely change the integrity of the anniversary model to the point you can't tell its an anniversary outside of badges and red interior? Just my opinion

I planned on keeping mine stock but after reading some of the exhaust and intake mods which seem very easy I am leaning more to the (light mod) side. The real thing that keeps pushing me is the youtube videos showing the installs and the great sounds. Not only the sounds but the HP increase you get makes it fun to do.

I put a Z emblem on front in place of the NISSAN badge.
Not even doing K&Ns. The only real mod was at 16k replacing the stock Bridgestones for Michelin Pilot AS/3s... now I can actually hear the exhaust!

I never touch nothing until the warranty is over. 350 hp is plenty when you can disable the nanny ****. I have a 2015 5.0 Genesis and its useless I cant shut anything off. That's why you should buy this z and not wait for the next it will have 400hp and no fun. Mac

I bought a 2013 Sports/ touring /Navi/ Bose 6 speed Z, would I like to mod it to make it sound different because really a CAI/ Exhaust will add a few ponies that you will not be able to tell the difference while driving but sure will make you engine bay pretty and your rear end even cuter , so on that note my Z is staying stock for now (unless you count the winter rims and tires I bought as a mod...)

those modded 40ths that you saw probably was purchased by the owners back in 2010/2011. I once told myself not to change anything to my 40th until one day we had a 40th AE meeting and there were 8 of us showed up! Suddenly deep inside your heart you know your is car is no longer "unique". One 40th owner I know personally is KarotZ who is really passionate about modding his car and he has won many awards. I have big respect for those guys for their hard work and passion. |
