I read the whole thread about buying a 370z from back in the day. I wondered if you got one. It sucks that you had so many CSC failures and dumped the car. Can't blame you for that.

Thanks. what really sucks is, I've had a sportscar of some sort since 1979. The Challenger is a great car but way big, no road feel, and not for me. I already had muscle cars. I listened to too many people who never owned a Z and don't share the same emotional connection I have with machines. I plan on buying another one after I pay this car down. I worry that the csc problem was never addressed.

And you would be right to worry. Aftermarket is your only real solution. Z1 or ZSpeed or SpecialtyZ.
... or 7AT

You should have at least gotten the SRT Chally. But I know what you mean when you say it is like a huge boat. I got to drive all the SRT vehicles in the track at VIR at the SRT Track Experience and I disliked the Challenger the most. I couldn't imagine it in non-SRT trim. Must be terrible. I wouldn't call it a sports car, really. I suggest you suck it up, ride out this Challenger thing, keep the wife happy...or, do as njobe89 said and get an automatic Z. They aren't all that bad. And you'll be able to find one that some chick drove that hasn't been beat to hell at the track like mine.

I shopped around for the next car. Almost bought a Chevelle SS that had a special 427 in it (they usually did not come with that engine) about $500 out of range in 1976, then looked at Roadrunner, 383, 4 speed pistol grip shifter, lime green. It had clutch problems. Then I drove a 1968 MGB, BRG. Sold on it. Been in love with sports cars ever since.

Guess that makes me the odd one out
I love the old muscle cars for their styling and power and still have a 68 Barracuda, 68 Charger (mostly rust) and a 66 convertible Valiant. But, but, once I slid behind the wheel of a sports car back in 79, I was hooked. I still like the muscle cars but there is nothing like 300+ hp, a 5 or 6 speed tranny, and racing through curves, mountain roads, and so forth. I was never much for having a back seat either. Just me and the car. The Challenger is a great car but huge, no road feed back, and like a Caddy with an attitude. Probably getting a Z in the future...near future

It's not odd, I do like the old muscle cars and the things they can do. I just like a little more nimble. All ya'all should check out Roadkill from Hot Rod. Especially episode 32.
