Smile Can 40th Anniversary be ordered with NAV?

first of all, do we know if this 40th anniversary comes in NAV as an option?

I'm asking this because the pictures I've seen have it (but then again, they came straight from Japan) The one I saw in previous threads (one in RED) did not have a Navigation....I'm assuming that the $38K price mentioned in multiple threads does not include the NAV as it doesn't mention it including the nav. I just hope that's an option. $38K is pretty much the same price as a fully loaded 370z so I'm thinking the MSRP should be more if you order it with NAV.

Unhappy

I got a catalog from Nissan of the 40th anniversary edition Z and I love the color. In many other sources it claims that the body color is a graphite and inmost posters it does look gun metalish - which I love but when I went on the Japanese Nissan website their 3D preview looks very purple almost lavenderish which I don't dig at all. I'm very sure that it the same "Quartz" color as what we're gonna get in the US. So I feel that I need to see one in person to know if this 40th anniversay body color is what I really want. The more I look at the wallpapers I do notice the background is in that lavenderish color which makes the car's purple less obvious. Does anyone here feels this way as well?

I really think we need to see more pictures of the Quartz color...I mean I may not need to see all the other features in person as they're already up on the web and i don't think they'll look much different in person....but the body color...I don't want to be one of those people that orders a $40k+ after tax car out without actually knowing the color is really what I want. What I do know for sure is, that Quartz graphite color shown in the Japan's Nissan Website looks light PURPLE (almost lavender) to me and I know for a fact, that's not what I want. Unless they're trying to promote a girl to own it.

MY dealership told me he would start the list and took a $200 check (just keeping on file, not cashing it) as a deposit. He said he thought he would have an arrival or ship date by late January.

Anyone have a better idea of what "early Spring" means?

Im guessing mid-March

I got one dealership that told me Nissan's only making 1000 units and they're only getting 2 in store, they said that I won't be able to "Order" them, I think she claims that Nissan is just going to send them as their request since the car is already fully configured. She said I need to do a down deposit. And Nav is available for this car.

I then wrote back to her asking how much down deposit be, and how she can guarantee the car will have a NAV if I "can't" order the car when NAV isn't a std for the 40th Anniversary Edition....and she never got back to me with neither the down deposit amt or anything about the NAV. Sigh

I'd just checked with our Nissan Rep earlier this morning. I hope this would help you guys out a little bit. Nav is not available with the 40th anniversary package. It's all only one spec- exterior- 40th anniversary graphite grey, red interior. 40th anniversary package includes exclusive paint, exclusive red seats/door inserts, seatback embroidered with "40th" logo, 40th exterior badging, floor mats, car cover, premium smoke finish wheels, red brake caliper finish and plaque of authenticity. The sport package is required on the 40th, and they will be 6 speed only.

"Nav is not available with the 40th anniversary package."

That should reduce the number of 40th anniversary Z's that are sold. Anniversary models should have at the least ..... all the options available since they are suppose to be Special.

I had the 20th Anniversary model Maxima. It had all the options plus a special exhaust system, a few more horsepower, 20 anniversary stitched into the seats plus other special interior appointments and ground effects. These were were not available on the other models. A Special Edition should be just that ............. Special.

I seriously doubt that.

That's interesting. I would have thought a loaded up Anniversary would include Navi or at least have the option to add it. I guess it's easier for Nissan to build them all the same way since the production is limited.

In Germany (and I think all over in Europe) the "40 Anniversary" is full equipped include the NAV. There is no option to order a "40 Anniversary" without NAV or without other specs.

I know it, because I ordered my "40 Anniversary" about 6 weeks ago

Greetings from Germany.

Hmmm, you'd kinda think that Nissan would take this opportunity to increase their gross profit margins by making the 40th Anniversary models come fully loaded with NAV.

That would force buyers to order the "whole enchilada", so to speak. Kinda like what EBGames did when they limited their pre-orders on the PS3 bundles.

To be honest, the only real thing that I like about the 40th Anniversary model is the red leather seats.

Yes, I believe it's much easier for Nissan to have a cookie cutter and make them all as 1 configuration. I have several of dealerships that confirmed with Nissan's Rep it doesn't come with NAV. This pretty much validates with that 40th Anniversary Edition article stating the price be ~$38K MSRP. (which is the same or a little less than the MSRP of a regular fully loaded 6Spd MT, Touring + Sports + NAV) So unless Nissan announced another price for the 40th Anniversary above $40K with NAV, I don't think it's gonna allow NAV as an option. Also, if customers even are allowed to have a say in what we want (such as NAV or NO NAV), we should be customizing these cars already now because they're beginning the production in January. And from what I know, they're gonna just build 1000 units (not a lot) and get it over with at the beginning of the year so they can have the plant move on building regular model 370Zs. I believe Nissan is just gonna distribute a limited amt (1-4 per dealerships, some may not even get any) of these pre-configured 40th Anniversary Edition Z's and the dealership won't even be able to have any say in the way they're built.

I've so far called up a lot of other dealerships and a lot of internet fleet managers have absolutely no clue of this 40th Anniversary Edition and claim that their computer system is letting them input it with the NAV as an option - which I pray god is true because I want a 40th Anniversary Edition with NAV. But they can claim whatever they want, truth be told is most likely when they call their Nissan Rep, they're gonna find out they made a mistake on their computer system forms and we're not able to order it with NAV.

I can say this for sure, not a lot of people in US is willing to pay $2K for factory NAV, (I'm not one of them because I actually am in love with Nissan's Factory NAV and think it's worth that $2K), but $35K for a sports car is already a lot in most people's budget, esp in an economy like this.....not a lot of people can settle for an unpractical car like the 370Z. Unless they really have that kind of a money and be able to get by with a 2 seater, most people need 4 seats even if it's a 2 door.

Unlike Japan or Europe, they have the option of getting the 40th Anniversary Edition with NAV and the Nismo version with Leather and NAV because people would buy it....unlike our base model Nismo 370z - which I'm sure a lot of people would have got if it came with a lot of the practical ammenities that daily drivers would want (i.e. garage opener, electrical seats), but because they know if they do make one with it, people won't want to buy it at a higher cost than it's already expensive $39K MSRP sticker price.

So it's looking pretty discouraging, looks like I'm not gonna be able to get the car of my dreams. They won't make special request for customers to add NAV because they know for a fact people will still buy them like hot cakes. Plus, I believe not a lot of people are even willing to pay $40k+ for a Nissan Z. Otherwise, they should make a NISMO + 40th Anniversary Edition + NAV for $47K MSRP, and i'd still buy it! But then again, I believe there are many people on this forum with a regular sports (Non Touring Models) that will disagree with me because they have a better way to spend that money on aftermarket stuff or performance only parts.

Well, this is just what I believe make sense to Nissan and I pray I'm wrong and they do make one with NAV....
