I feel like you can just punch out the dent and buff the bumper will get the job done. Can't really see the damage in detail but it doesn't seem too bad.

I handle [edit]filing[edit] claims for this and from my experience it will fall under collision coverage other party hit parked insured. You would most likely be found not at fault 0% liability but if damages amount to over $750 you will have to report crash to DMV. you will most likely be responsible for your collision deductible as most UM cases need a confirmation of non-insurance to be applied. But there are work around ds and you may get lucky with the deductible. As far as rate increases, it depends on the payout and if repair even exceeds your deductible.

Ya i called my insurance they said deductible $500, they are sending someone out to estimate the damage. I heard its possible to after getting the estimate, take the full amount - deductible as cash/check. Is that true?

Vehicle 1 is my Z and Vehicle 2 is my DD. I live in California if that helps.

I want to know if based on my policy they will pay for my damages for hit and run. Will claiming insurance and fixing my car report my car in being salvage title? Will it go on carfax record?

if you plan on using pdr, do yourself a favor and DONT touch it. just let the pro's fix it. worst dents to fix are ones that some novice pushed in the wrong areas making multiple impact points vs one.

Some insurance companies require a police report in order to file a hit and run under uninsured motorist coverage.

I had someone run me into a median curb one time. I tried waving down several witnesses but they just drove off when the light turned green. I didn't think the damage was that bad, but it turns out that I busted the oil pan. Since I didn't file a police report, the insurance company forced me to pay my deductible and filed it under comprehensive coverage. Note that this was only because I avoided being hit by the other vehicle - it would have been covered under uninsured motorist coverage if I had let them hit me. Now I know

I call police first and my insurance company second at the scene of any accident now, regardless of how minor. I've even had my insurance company take a statement from the person at fault on my phone at the scene. They later tried to change their story, so I was glad the insurance had already taken their statement admitting fault.

Did you ask the insurance agent why wouldn't the $500 UM collision deductible waiver you are paying for doesn't cancel out the $500 collision deductible?

The only reason why I might think you are paying for the $500 deductible is that you did not file a police report within a certain time period to consider it a hit and run and thus a "not at fault" accident. Now the accident is considered a chargeable loss and you are now subject to your $500 deductible. If this is the case, then it might affect your insurance rates.

I had to read that a few times to get that (- = minus) haha. Yes if you are just going for an inspection you usually just get issued a check with the deductible factored out of the total. If they are going to send you to a shop they will pay the shop to complete the work.
So if it's a payout you're looking for then they can cut you that check but keep in mind most estimates are superficial and they only look at the surface for a guesstimate, if there are any underlying damages and you're repairing yourself then you aren't going to be able to submit for a supplement to get any additional needed funds to repair. So keep that in mind as well.

If it's one thing I've learned from The People's Court, it's that you should always, always, always file a police report!

Sorry for rebumping. I talked to the police officer and he said since i don't know who did it, theres nothing he can do. He did give me an "incident number" which is like my case number i guess but no "police report" was fully filed, again, just incident number. Hopefully this works. My insurance is Mapfre and its been like a week now and my insurance havn't replied.

Dealing with your insurance company is like dealing with another scam artist. They love taking your money when nothing happens but act like you are trying to fraud them when something does happen for the reason you do carry insurance. I'm with state farm and they respond immediately when I report an issue but I have to go through a 20 question and answer session first for some stupid reason. Once that is over its pretty easy getting any of my vehicles repaired. I would call and call and call your insurance agent. I never heard of mapfre and there may be a reason as to why.

Get an estimate on repair. You will find out then if your insurance scammed you or not. Do not deposit or cash your check until you find out.

Who the hell is Mapfre insurance......sounds like some startup company. You should be able to go to any repair shop and get an estimate for the repair. Insurance companies usually recommend shops for you to go to since they already have a relationship in place for lower repair costs in exchange of providing customers. However, you should not be held to which repair shops the insurance company recommends. This is all dependent if some clause in your insurance policy states otherwise. Also, if the repairs exceed what you initially received from the insurance company, the insurance company will pay the difference to the repair shop.

Also, I commented several times that I believe that you shouldn't be liable for the $500 deductible based on your insurance policy. Did you mention to your agent about the waiver you are paying for? Maybe, because you didn't first report it within their time requirement it no longer applies.
