Michelin Pilot AS/3 tires so you can actually hear the exhaust.

I'm like the poster above. Happy with what I got when I bought it.

Best bang for the buck, or how I would mod if I were on a budget.

Swift Springs - Good enough drop for a daily, I'm on coils and dropped about the same height.

Exhaust - Fast Intentions is my pick for price: performance ratio

Wheels - Some light weight Work wheels.

Foglight - Evo-R, the thing makes the Z pretty damn unique.

As far as an exhaust im basically set on the Fast Intensions, but heres the toss up, I dont want the car to quiet and screw up with to much resonators. Im leaning towards non-resonated test pipes and 12" resonators in the CBE. Im afraid the test pipes non-resonated will make the car sound raspy and crappy.

Anyone have feedback or advice on this?

These were nothing but ordinary vehicles that I felt I had to make them unique as far as being just one more TL, FJ, Beetle, RSX-S Civic Si, Rubicon etc that modding was what made them look and perform different from the crowd. When I got the Z, I made sure to get the one that had all the options I could put on so that I didn't have to change a thing (except winter rims and tires) and when people look at my car they ask if I did the calipers, the suspension, the exhaust etc because they can't believe a Z would be made like that right out of the factory and there are so few in my neck of the woods to compare. So unless you want to dress up the engine compartment with a CAI, make it stupid fast with engine/ ecu mods (and really how often can you hit 100 mph in nano seconds unless you track the car) the Z ( at least w/ the sports package, manual, navi ) is IMHO a complete car...(now I'm toying w/ the idea of doing a rear fog light mod just because I think it should have come with it,at least a 4th brake light) :driving:

i agree 100%... with the exception of a few cosmetic mods (auto shift knob, gtr dome light lenses, z emblem bumper badges, z valve stem caps, and i made a storage compartment out of my dummy console switches) my z is pretty much stock... it always turns heads and several people have asked what the heck it was... said it looks too exotic to be a nissan

also, and i could be wrong here, but it seems to me that the ones who mod the car are the ones who have problems/issues all the time... guess my opinion is if i want something faster or with bigger wheels or with turbo, etc. i would've bought a different car... but that money thing always gets in the way... or i'd have the new viper instead

janglez, Agreed, too many mods can create more maintenance issues but some people don't mind doing it. However, just an exhaust should not increase maintenance issues and will not void any warranties. This is all I needed on my Z performance wise and it has increased my power (subjective, not dynoed), plus improved sound and almost 2 mpg better on gas (fact).

OP, good choice on FI exhaust. Can't answer your question on the test pipes sound but if your warranty concerns you, better do a little more research. Good luck!

my feedback learned from a fellow on here aka (Andrew) once you mess with the cats you are going to have rasp, if you want to eliminate it as much as possible go resonated TPS and resonated 12 fi exhaust. the combo of non res TPS and res Exhaust will still have rasp, hell I'm running HFC and I still rasp top end.

Right on. Who will ever need money for the future, anyway?
Just don't chicken out. Nothing worse than people who go halfway doing s***t.

Seriously? Clearbra, Swifts and spacers.

If you want the car to go faster....this^.

If you are looking to simply "personalize" your Z with a certain look or sound, then there are already a lot of good suggestions in this thread.:tiphat:

A thorough wash and a fresh coat of wax, be proactive and prevent the swirls the dealership tried to install from spreading.

On a more serious note though, some sort of coating on the interior is a must have. You will kick the @#$% out of the car just getting in and out and it will scuff the door panels and seats up no matter how careful you are. Scotchgard comes to mind immediately, at the very least on the driver's side.

performance then appearance.
