I would be curious if base model buyers are also experiencing excessive (to some) interior noise.

I know some members have already said that the rear wheel wells are simply too thin and that this is the main cause of the perceived high level of interior noise. I was curious if that was the case or if a different set of tires might improve on the noise leakage.

Thanks!

Personally I wouldn't worry about it....All the Noise about the noise is really less than it's cracked up to be. The RE050A's are loud, Yes, but only on certain surfaces. Overall they're not that bad and work really well. Once (and if) you get a 370 drive it for awhile. Most of those concerns will evaporate. I was all set to do an extensive noise damping project to deal with it, but honestly, after owning the car fro 4K miles, it's just not worth the effort..

Compared to my 280z this car is quiet, so I'm happy. All these people complaining about noise with the 370z need to get themselves a luxury car and not a sports car. With people complaining like this Nissan will eventually just add in more sound deading material which will just drive the weight of the car up, which will just make more people bitch.

Probably most people complaining are coming from non-hatch 2-seat sports cars.

I thought it was loud too, then I thought about it for a minute...

My porsche was loud also. I think it is the nature of it being a sports car. I certainly did not buy the car because comfort was my main concern. I probably would have gotten a sporty looking mid-size car if that were the case.

If you are not in a fine pavement, then I would say; it is noisy.

Reviewers have to find things to nitpick, it's what they get paid for. The road noise is not excessive unless you're on a crappy road.

Same as every other thing you hear complaints about. Before I bought my Z, I was going to drop loads of cash on an oil cooler, clear bra, new tires and noise dampening, $14/qt oil, backup camera, etc, etc...

I've done none of those things, and don't intend to either. Stop reading reviews and go drive one, see what issues YOU have with the car.

Regarding road noise, my Mini is loud, the Z is louder.

That's somewhat of a good example there - take the rear seats out of the mini, and angle the rear half towards the driver so that the rear window reflects sound off the road....and you have a similar effect as the 370z.

if you want quiet luxury, get the G37.

if you want a raw sports car.. get the Z.

Talking

I noticed tire noise only on certain roads and that was for about a week. After that it is all music to me coming from a fine sports car that I enjoy the he!! out of!
So if it is quiet plush comfort you are looking for you probably can't appreciate the qualities of a good sports car and shouldn't own one!
