370 Z AT with Sport package and shifting speeds

Hi all,
I lease an 09 g37x sedan At and i like it for the comfort and acceleration
I recently tired 370Z auto and although both cars have the same motor, the Z sits much lower and feels much much sportier and corners flat

I thought the upshifts in Z especially from 3 to 4 took about 1.5 to 2 seconds ie for the tach needle to drop the revs completely when upshifting after the guage shows the higher gear

I timed my g37 auto in manual and i can say "1001 1002" by the time I see the needle dropping completly to the new higher gear eg: 3 to 4 or even 2 to 3 ,But on this you tube video of 370 z auto
YouTube - 370Z with automatic transmission Rev match explained

At 2:24 and 2:50 you can see upshifts from 2 to3 and 3 to 4.
The 2 to 3 upshift at 2:24 is within a second and the 3 to 4 upshift at 2:50seems to take about 2 seconds

AT owners what do you feel about the upshift speeds from 3 to 4 and 4 to 5 compared to 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. From the video looks like the upshifts upto 3rd gear seems faster to complete than from say 3 to4 or 4 to 5

Any feedback will be appreciated

I'm sorry, but you have to actually drive the car to know what you observed in the video is ONLY true when you are accelerating slowly. When you are accelerating aggressively or full throttle, the upshifts 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and even 4-5 are VERY fast, and when decelerating the downshifts (as long as the downshift is started with the engine at 3k rpms or higher) 5-4, 4-3, 3-2, and 2-1 are ALSO very fast.

Why is the shift speed different when cruising or when driving aggressively? BECAUSE THE CAR ADAPTS TO YOUR DRIVING! IT'S AWESOME!!

Okay, off the soapbox now...but really, you must drive the car yourself in ALL ways to appreciate this.

Have fun with your test drive!

As others said, when you are wide open throttle the tranny shifts significantly faster than "normal" driving.

Not only faster, but harder too - sounds like prom-night, but it's true.

It'll break them loose in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and occasionally 4th if the tires are cold.
