Getting a replacement smart key, need advice.

Was searching on eBay, are these key fobs aftermarket or OEM? Anyone have any experience with them? My Z logo is dented and the panic button is scratched, looks like crap. I'll probably just take the shell for now, and maybe I'll program it in the future.

I did some searching, didn't really find any posts about the quality of the eBay fobs.

Smart key on eBay

The price is definitely right

It looks to be the OEM fob (would have been smart if they posted the Nissan ID number/package to confirm).
The fobs are cheap, it is the programming that dealerships want to charge 100-200.

I bought one of those and swapped out the internals. Worked fine.

Cracked it open & just moved over the hardware?
Hard to do?

Yea. Just use a flat head.

Oh nice, I have changed the battery before but never looked to see if the hardware could come out easily & be removed.
Now I am tempted to just pick up a Z key for cheap since I do not have to get it re-programmed.

replacing the case is simple. as said above, pry the board out, and put it into the new case!

Ive also bought a new fob just for the shell. Its is very easy, everything is loose when your pry it open. Just switch out the internals and click back together.

Taking it to get reprogrammed sucks. I just got back today from getting my second key programmed. It cost me 96.82 and about 30 minutes of waiting at the dealer.

If you don't feel comfortable swapping the cases yourself take it to any custom audio shop and ask them to do it. They might charge you $10 for their time.

I was able to have a new intelligent key programmed for my car by a local independent locksmith that specifically advertised dealing with Nissan intelligent keys. Service was $45
