There are some people that still seek out standard shift cars. Every car I have owned has been a standard except for 2 SUV's.

When I got my Z there was not question that I wanted standard. There are still people who will seek out a standard shift.

When I'm at work and I walk through the parking lot I peek to see what kinds of trannys the sports cars have. I've noticed that the majority of them have standard shift transmissions.

Lots of manual transmission propaganda in this thread.

I seriously doubt manual hurt would hurt resale value in a sports car, ever. If anything I suspect it would be the opposite, automatic would be hurt more. Mostly due to "I can't believe you bought an automatic sports car" reaction from peers.

I learned how to drive on manual and drove them for many years. I drive an automatic now. It's whatever. Manual is fun to drive, there's no denying that. Sometimes it's fun to put two hands on the wheel and just cruise (I would say put 1 hand on the babe, but not sure I'm allowed to say that here). I apologize in advance for destroying any faith in humanity or not burning excess calories while driving.

My second car was a Sentra SE-R Spec V that was a 6 speed. I had been looking all over for one that I could buy and when I finally found one that I liked, I took a friend with me who could test drive the car because I didn't know how to lol. He drove it home for me too lol. I had to learn after I got it to the house.

yah if one bought a boring sedan or stationwagon with MT, chances are you will have a hard time selling it privately.

if you bought a car guy's car in MT, you probably will not have an issue with selling MT.

Gotta love the manual fanboy support.

More ATs are sold than MTs. Playing Vegas numbers, you have a better chance of reselling and getting more for an AT over a MT.

Those that worry about someone's transmission is the same guy that does the sideways meatgaze at the gym. C'mon folks, it's a poor man's sports car, who cares what transmission it has or the $500 resale you get either way.

You are mistaken, the torque converter sucks HP that a clutch doesn't. It's even more drivetrain loss on the 7AT configuration.

Love the AT best of both worlds and don't have to worry about traffic jams. Would love manual but too much trouble at some point. So mehhhh why not have both. Paddles are just as fun.

I have. While fun, there is only 2 pedals. Not the same thing. As much as I love the GTR's performance, I'd never purchase one. Needs that 3rd pedal for me to consider it.
