Gas Meter

My gas meter, regardless of filling up, is always missing the last LED light... Whats wrong?

Zbrah 02-16-2015 07:16 PM

You didn't fill up enough. Next time squeeze the pump harder on the last few drops.

Jk Bro, it's normal. Happens to all of us. Thanks to that Nissan quality :tiphat:

kenchan 02-16-2015 07:19 PM

doesnt happen to my 5yr old 09.

but then my fuel level is often pretty high, and at full during storage.

DEpointfive0 02-16-2015 11:35 PM

I had my cluster changed, then my fuel sending units... Twice...

These are leftover problems from the G35/350Z that Nissan didn't care to fix

kynseon 02-16-2015 11:42 PM

Happened to me once. You have to squeeze a little bit after the pump stops pumping. I just got my Z and this happens to me.

I always squeeze two or 3 more pumps after it finishes.

VCuomo 02-17-2015 01:02 PM

Used to happen to me all the time no matter how many extra "squeezes" I put in.

JF450 02-17-2015 03:39 PM

Weird, never happened to my '14, and I just stop when it clicks, no extra squeezes.

FairladyZ10PG 02-17-2015 03:41 PM

Mine does that all the time now

Memphis370Z 02-17-2015 04:05 PM

No matter how much I try to top it off, the last light always takes a little while to catch up with the rest. Usually after just a few miles of driving.

Magic Bus 02-17-2015 04:29 PM

Never happens to mine. 1st click, it shows all dots. In fact I gotta drive 50 miles for the 1st dot to disappear. Problem is dots vanish rather quickly there after :icon17:

Same

FUEL SENDING UNIT! This is an old 350Z/G35 problem that Nissan decided to not fix

falconfixer 02-17-2015 09:13 PM

Lights burnt out.

Normally LED lights outlive the vehicles though dont they? I dont think thats the issue.

What's more, that would be the least likely LED to burnout on that cluster. It is the very first one to turn off whenever the gas level starts going down. It's actually LEDs on the other end of the gauge that would burn out first

Spooler 02-17-2015 10:06 PM

Mine has been rather high here lately. Nobody seems to want to come near me at work.
????? Go figure.

Genius. Unless there is a circuitry problem, that would be an exception.

Have you tried a bottle of Techron?

If you're referring to the filler problem, its not the same issue.

No, I'm talking about the car never showing it's full. And it being caused by the fuel sending units. That's an old G35/350Z problem
