Well from what I have read around this forum the two main problems for this car is the paint quality and the overheating issues. Feel free to correct me, 370Z owners.

the only problem mechanical are that pushing the car will turn up the oil temp past the avg of 220 260 and and some have opted to install an external oil cooler, that's not to say everyone's driving there Z's hard the other which is no surprise is the blind spot looking to your right, that can be addressed by adjusting the mirror out more, other than that Z is a pretty solid car there are things that some can nit pick but most cars have something to nit pick. PS. the paint like mentioned is soft so keeping it waxed with Zaino will correct and protect the paint on this subject it has to be made clear most automaker are using water based paint.

+1 on the Zaino. I have been a Zainoite for over ten years and will use nothing else. Also, as someone mentioned, a clear bra is a must. I have no chips on my car at all after over a year and 24K miles. I travel south to Phoenix in the summer time quite a lot and have never had an issue with overheating, even on 110+ degree days. Of course, that would be different if I tracked the car, which I have not done yet.

I would say that my Z has thus far been as reliable as any car I have owned in my 58 years on this planet, and that includes three Miatas which are rock solid, especially the doors.

-Some drivers find that the car does actually overheat on their daily commute. How they actually drive is anyone's guess, but on the street I can't imagine being able to drive any of the cars I have owned to the point of overheating if everything was in working order.
----Get a cooler with a thermostat. Too cool is just as bad and maybe worse than too hot.

-Early models had a whining sound come from the PCM.
----Swap it out.

-Some 2009's used oil.
----Fixed via Nissan.

-The paint is 3mm thick. This is some of the thinnest in the industry. It allows for truly awesome "depth" of color.
----A clear-bra is mandatory.

-Some people complain about "cabin noise". I have driven 370's and don't think it's an issue.
----If you must, there are many products on the market like "Blockit", and others.
Can someone elaborate on the noises posted above? I think i may have one of these issue on my 2011.

I have just recently noticed a low pitched whining whenever i keep the gas pedal pressed down at lower rpm, it happens at every gear, and its becoming more noticeable now that i have paid attention to it. i plan on taking it to dealer to check out, but I'm doing research to see if others have had any experience with this issue or know what causes it. Thanks guys.

Dang, the paint can't be that bad, right? I noticed some pictures of somebody's hood and it seems like the paint is chipping off.

Everything is excellent! No problems at all! Loving the 7SP! I don’t really notice any problems with the paint after an intense examination. BTW mine is a July built.

i would say for a brand new model change over from the 350 the 09
on average had very few issues. imo a lot of the oil over heating and oil
burning was because of neglect. flame on if need be.

i still say if the car is driven with care and that doesn't mean like my grandmother would drive it. it is very dependable sports car....

i'm sure there are some guys on here who had 350's..... like i did with its rattles
cheap interior and front end that could never be aligned.

sorry i'm rambling but the difference between the 350 and 370 is amazing

Yes totally agree with this comment, they are chalk and cheese, the 370 z is a more sorted car with better finish and a big improvement over the 350z,mind you so it should be,that's the name of the car game!
