Thanks very much ALL! I'm still here that's what counts, a car is just a car!
Thanks very much all for your welcome back (I was a premium member previously), your support and especially for the kind words/empathy. Not only about/for the Car but for my Health and Military Service as well, would like to send a salute (and a beer perhaps) ;-) to all of my brothers and sisters on here and everywhere for that matter!
*The reason I mentioned my Military Service and Medical condition(s)/state is to explain the reason for the low miles on the Car, had it for a year+, also I tend to mention my service and medical condition(s) most times in conversations/posts as it impacts my life every single day quite heavily, 20 years in the Military and 10 years as a GOVT employee-USDA & DEPT of VA and I am VERY proud of both. It happened during a downpour of rain about 2 blocks from my house, just some guy backing out of his driveway not looking then wham right into a $100K car! :-( It hit the passenger front end/right side, luckily I was only doing 28MPH, the Steering Wheel Airbag Deployed and I think I was out briefly, still kind of blurry, broke my right foot as well somehow?! **Unfortunately since it is "Totaled" I can't keep any parts of it, the Insurance Company owns it now as part of the payoff, but I did manage to get the GT-R Emblem out of the wrecked front grill before they towed it away the next day. The Engine was not damaged whatsoever just the front end, radiator and inter-coolers. **I will definitely look into those headers/upgrades mentioned tyvm! Because I don't drive much due to the nature of my illness I just felt I couldn't justify spending that amount of $$ again on a Car, and then being paranoid about it being ruined/damaged in any way, yah know? I would rather spend that money on my Family and enjoying a better quality of life which has been impacted greatly by my service connected disabilities. Thanks again for your kind words/input and cheers! V/R, Jeff Last edited by Toyster; 01-21-2015 at 12:53 PM. |

Yikes! Those pictures! I'm just glad you walked away from that accident.
Welcome to the 2015 Nismo world though. We may not be as fast as the GT-R, but boy are we better looking.

Thanks much all! In the end it was just a Car, glad to still be here!
Thanks everyone for the Congrats on my new 370Z NISMO and sorrow on my loss of the GT-R! I will definitely look into a/the intake (Takeda/Gen3), tyvm! Also going to get an InvisaBra or Invisible Mask installed next week.
*Unfortunately I couldn't keep/save anything from the GT-R, I wish I could have, with it being "Totaled" the Insurance Company now owns it as part of the settlement. :-( Believe it or not the Engine was completely undamaged, just the front bumper/front passenger side, radiator and inter-coolers, and of course the Airbag Deployed. Much of the "mess" you see on the front end/hood is from the Tow Truck Driver, he took ALL the parts that had fallen off and just threw them on the Hood. I did however manage to get the GT-R Logo/Emblem from the front grill before they took it and I get to keep the owners manual etc... *The guy that hit me was just backing out of his driveway/not looking and it happened only about a mile from my house, it was during a downpour of rain. *Thanks for the kind words on my Military/GOVT service (20 years Navy/10 years Federal Employee @ USDA & DEPT of VA). I think the reason I bring them up when I post is first in this particular situation to explain why I had so few miles on such a beautiful Car I had for more than a year, and second is because of pride and the fact my "conditions" are something I have to confront and deal with every day...but, given a choice I would do it all over again! |

Sorry to hear about the accident, nice to see another NISMO, and thanks for your service. There's not really much big upgrades you "need" to do if your not going for more speed/power. Besides what was already mentioned.
1. Audio. Anything is better then what comes from the dealer. Check out the Audio section 2. Lighting. Lots of things you can do with the headlights, ONEighty has some nice things to think about. LED lights for the interior and rear license plate to replace the yellowish non led lights. Oh and the GT-R start button =P. 3. Clutch helper spring change to help the feel of the clutch if you have the manual. Hood struts the replace the cheap looking rod that holds the hood up. 4. Exterior. I personally like the Zspeed under shroud, much better then that plastic crap under the car. Finally not sure about your state rules for front license plates but a retractable holder would be nice, but there are many good options out there w/o the dealer drilling holes in your bumper. 5. Oh and change out the seats and sell them to me. JK, I wish I had the seats that come with the new Nismo Zs and Jukes. No need to ever change those. There are many little improvements that you can do and I am sure in time you'll see them all mentioned here. |

Toyster: Thank you for your service and I recognize that dealing with injury everyday does make for better driving days than others.
You have many options to upgrade your Z and before you do, make a plan so you do not waste your money on a whimsical build. Welcome and I hope to see more of you around the forum.
