Awesome.
In addition to the obvious automatic transmission and tech package, the Japanese site shows there's a new interior light kit option. All previous NISMO extras, like the illuminated kick plates and premium floor mats, are also carried over. http://www.nissan.co.jp/IMAGES/Z/LIG...0000408137.jpg http://www.nissan.co.jp/IMAGES/Z/LIG...0000408138.jpg http://www.nissan.co.jp/IMAGES/Z/LIG...0000408139.jpg ***EDIT*** On a side note: I just noticed from these pics, that the Japanese version has different seats. I should investigate that a little more. Seats are from a non-NISMO model (the silver isn't blackened). The light kit is offered for the entire 2015 line-up. |
So its uglier, more expensive, drag coefficient went from .29 to .30, and its 108lbs heavier "probably more with failmatic transmission" . No thanks. This will be written off in my memory history book as (non cannon Z) that doesnt belong. Kinda like how people who own a 240sx wanna be part of the Z family. Badged or not, this isnt a nismo.

I like my Z!

IMHO, I prefer the body styling of the '15 NISMO. That's just a personal point of view and I can't argue with those who like the previous models better. What disappoints me though is the performance of it. I think they should've done more to hit to make it more special. But the price of the car is reasonable if you ask me. That's just my :twocents:

Fortunately, those who prefer the old styling still have a chance to get it before they vanish. Dealers still have a backlog of them. |

When I say I prefer the look of the '15 Nismos, don't get me wrong 'cuz I like the "older" ones too but... it's '15 for me. |
The 2015 nismo looks amazing, and the available tech package is just awesome. Don't really love the navi, but anything is better than the massive cubby.
Also, I don't see any option for the interior lights on the 2015 build page. Might be a JDM only option. |
I really just want the seats, steering wheel, and the rear final drive. They don't make 15's in magma red, th old dark nismo wheels look better than the new ones, and I prefer the large spoiler. I admit the whale tail is kinda cool tho.

No oil cooler?

Nissan also proves with the 370s that if you wait a couple years the price will go down
.. Nismo went from 40k to 45k back down to 41k for retail .. I can't wait to see a dealer with a leftover 2014 Nismo and a 2015 on the lot for less money! We know the sports pack did the same thing. I think my 2013 Nismo I sold will be my last nissan. Hoping Toyota come through with a new supra. Nissan need to do something pretty intense for the next Z to survive. They need to go big or just drop the car. |
^ Thats what I am hoping. I have my eye on a dealer here with a 2014 nismo. I emailed him and he already gave me a price 3k below asking price with taxes included but I want to go even lower. And like you said. 2014 on the lot with a 2015 will just be a joke on the dealer haha.

Wow. Okay well that just set a new goal for me lol. I enjoy winning so me paying over 35 will be a loss haha.
|
Notice how they lowered the final drive ratio on the manual equipped cars to 3:91 to offset weight gain

And don't worry, the way you talk is a great repellent to 240sx owners to "join the Z family. Stfu |
just did a "build and price"...$48k for the nismo tech with at...ouch

Beautiful Z.

50k for a 370z is insane. Not worth it at all in my opinion.
Best choice really is a sport pack base model. I thought 41k for my 2013 nismo was a little over the top but 50k is a whole new class of cars. |
2015 Nismo is a no go. Don't like it.
Don't like the wheels. The front and rear bumpers aren't doing it for me. Prefer the 14 Nismo. No wing? Nismo needs to be more performance focused. I want the Nismo to be what the Z28 is now. Better tires, less weight, better down force lower center of gravity and obviously more power! |

THe Z28 costs 76K…….thats 30 more than the Nismo.

I agree that we need a Nismo + or something that slots between the Nismo and the base GTR. The new GT Stang is apparently better at Laguna than the Boss, so perhaps Nissan threw in the towel for the Z for this iteration and might try something better the next design. That being said, if the Z28 drops some and I think it will, I would pull the trigger on one at a price point of 60, same price as the Hellcat. They seem to be accumulating on the lots, I have no mullet but I would drive one. But they seemed to have fixed the things I got rid of my Nismo for….it now has better seats, stock oil cooler, navigation and XM radio, and less wing to draw attention.

a Ferrari dino, or a mustang II are closer to being a real Ferrari and mustang than a 240SX is to a Z. |

I owned 3 240sx hatchbacks over the years and I am part of the Z Club now.
I am not really feeling the 15 NISMO either. The interior things that we didn't get (even though available in Japan) are too little too late. The 13-14 NISMO got it right to an extent, but the two tone should have been an option instead of a MY deal. The oil cooler is lacking, but the suspension tweak is ok at best in comparison. If Nissan would have listened when they did the challenge car on Facebook when they redesigned the NISMO for 15, I am sure we would have seen a far different vehicle. We can only hope for the Z35 to implement those ideas. In all reality, I would get a 13 (if I hadn't done so much to my 09) if I had to do it all over again. I would have a FI TT Kit instead of Greddy though...... |
S chassis is s chassis and z chassis is z chassis neither is trying to be either. They serve different markets. That's all there is to it.
