wtf nissan?!?!?! you make rear vents that do nothing for six years on the back of the original Z34 nismo, then you go and do the same to the front of the 2015????

really? I would have to say the complete opposite. In my opinion, the latest nismo looks like the hired 2 seventeen year olds to play need for speed all day, then asked them to design a new body kit for the Z34....

To each their own. I feel that the 2014 and earlier Nismo design is far closer to the Need for Speed / Fast and Furious stereotype than the 2015. Not so say that's a bad look by any means. To me, the earlier Nismo feels more aggressive and in-your-face, while the new one is more subtle and refined. I think they're both amazing looking cars in their own way, and it really just comes down to what your personal style is.:driving:

to each their own.

front fender arche lips look lame, initially I thought they were there for a reason but after those close up shots I noticed the front arch lips dont even go all the way down the fender to prevent dirt and debri going up the door sides. Reminds of those cheap plastic trims old folk ( Im no spring chicken) put around their door edges.

I much like the rear spoiler and front bumper. Thats about it. All in all a good refresh. Not too keen on the flat sunken in wheels though.

Best one item is the front bumper followed by the dark headlights.

Kingbaby 09-23-2014 09:52 PM

It's very sad indeed they removed the numbered! Everyone can have a Nismo, but not everyone is gonna appreciate what it is!

I imagine the price dropping faster on these cars!?!

Not really. Some dealers are offering an "Internet Price" that's a few hundred dollars less than MSRP, but on the whole the new NISMO is selling fast at sticker price. I've tried four dealer exchanges: all failed because the car was sold before it could happen, or the dealer refused because they were confident of getting a better deal locally.

There's too few of the cars right now, so supply and demand is at work. If Nissan increases the amount of cars available in the US, then maybe it will oversaturate and cause a price reduction, but until then it's a hot commodity due to scarcity.

We'll see if Nissan wants to play the scarcity plan, or intends to eventually oversaturate soon enough...

Kingbaby 09-24-2014 06:48 AM

^^^

understood I'm just going off the norm of deprecation of previous models...

All nismo stickered at 40 plus on debut, then a year later down 8-10k

Because as we seen Nissan is in the business of selling cars to people not ethusiast !

:(

Other than those and the lack of the large Nismo rear wing, I like the car. I even went to the extent of calling Nissan USA and requesting to special order a 2015 Nismo with the 09-14 spoiler, but the guy who I spoke with stated that there is nothing that they could do. He went further to say that I could always " go aftermarket", but it may "possibly void the warranty". :shakes head: In my opinion, I don't like how Nissan went with a smaller rear wing. The duckbill spoiler doesn't compliment the aggressiveness of the new front fascia. And maybe I'm the only one, but I never had any issues with the large Nismo wing in the way while driving/backing-up.

Now regarding the Recaro seats...I'm 5'6, 150lbs and the seats felt a little too snug on my body. Then again, that's probably because I'm not used to sitting on Recaros. :icon14:

Congrats dude!!! Your Nismo looks great

Get a EVO-R high wing for it! Will look sick.

I love the new Nismo and I really like it in black.

Actually, with the red trim, it kind of reminds me of the old 60's TV Batmobile...

Cosmetically, a big improvement over the previous version and the extra options (several of which were always there for the Japanese version, BTW...) are a great idea.

If the next gen Z fails to impress, I may see if I can swing a gently used 2015 Nismo once the current Z is paid off.

It's interesting that you should say that. I feel the opposite about the wheels. In the pics, I was all for the new style, but video really shows how much the flat spokes kill the appearance of concavity. The centers are definitely deeper on the rear, but depending on the angle it's hard to tell.

I gotta give the old rims the nod.

I thought that was a cool touch

Neat touch that I will miss as well, but on the other side of it, it seems like they're doing this because they're making the NISMO stuff more widely available and want to create the impression that these cars, while limited to less than normal production numbers, aren't going anywhere anytime soon. That part I like.

Perhaps a full run of M/AMG/RS/V cars for the everyman? I'm all about it.

RicerX 10-30-2014 12:21 PM

Now quick, someone photoshop an Amuse wing onto a white 2015 nismo!

aszyd 10-30-2014 01:45 PM

They should go with SE-R for the "lesser" models and leave Nismo for their sports cars.

They sort of did that already, and I think it led to brand confusion. You had the Sentra and the Altima (and if you want to get more specific, the 200SX as well) and the branding never really took off very well for any of the models except the Sentra.

I think the execution of the NISMO brand starting this year (the Juke, new Z, and GT-R, amongst the Versa, Pulsar, and Sentra concepts) is far better than any previous performance branding Nissan has done. It's consistent with respect to color schemes and exterior design themes, you get performance gains (however big or small, but I think they're working on that as shown with the GT-R and the Juke especially), and all the other things you'd expect from a performance variant of a car.

Ford and its ST brand is heading down the road Nissan already did with the SE-R variants. The performance stuff is there, but the branding isn't very well executed. It doesn't have a flagship like Nissan does with the GT-R NISMO, and that's the same problem that Nissan had with its SE-R branding. You won't see a flagship with Ford's ST because an ST variant doesn't fit into the Mustang branding, and it's highly unlikely you'll see a Ford GT ST. Where the NISMO branding is set up to where you could apply its design and engineering philosophy to almost any Nissan, you don't have that with the ST brand.

Here's yet another walk around of the 2015 NISMO, this time of the European model and in Pearl White:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv3C8PdBw2w

I'm a firm believer that when Nissan made the new body kit, Pearl White was the only color they were thinking of -- the other three colors were just shoehorned as an afterthought.

BTW: Checkout the lady at around 0:45 who can't keep her hands off the Z's sexy front hood. Car can't help but draw the hotties to it. ;)

MC 11-17-2014 08:36 PM

White is sort of the official color for all the new NISMO cars

I would say that, across the board, PW is the #1 while MB takes the #2 slot on the NISMO cars.

The other two colors make the cars almost forgettable. Requires too much extra cosmetics to make them work. I feel the red needs way more black accents.

I will take mine in white.

370zHawaii 11-18-2014 07:59 PM

I have to humbly disagree with you, I may be biased... no not really, I have owned white base, silver base, and red, and the red 370z nismo looks good with any trim silver or black. It matches everything nismo has to offer. The new nismo looks F-N awesome in any color IMHO. I have a few disappointments though. The wheels not my taste (those can always be changed), the front bumper seems like overkill --too much going on--I am sure it is functional, and the rear wing doesn't look quite 370Z nismo, ---does not seem aggressive. (maybe I have to see it in person to really judge, videos and pics may not do it justice).

The rear bumper looks killer, and so does the interior! The blacked out headlights I want them!! It is unfortunate that they stopped with the numbering system. Personally speaking it makes the car feel that much more different than your regular Z other than the 40th.

We buy the nismo for the extras, body, suspension, a little more power. I can not say I would upgrade to the 2015 and up, it just doesn't do it for me. I would however like to get a hold of that rear bumper, minus the reflector/fog lamp. Again just my opinion:tiphat:

Nargrakhan 11-24-2014 02:18 PM

Fun Fact: Just because the inventory search on the Nissan website claims NISMO is at a certain dealership waiting to be sold, doesn't mean it's at the dealership. Evidently when Nissan invoices cars to a dealer, it gets posted on the Nissan inventory search. Said car could still be sitting on a cargo ship in California when that happens.

And now you know...

janglez 12-24-2014 07:07 AM

just saw the 2015 370z nismo in person yesterday... it was the white one... all i have to say is YUCK... the only two things that i liked were the seats and the tech package... and the wheels are hideous... would much rather have my 2013 sport wheels... i thought i wanted one and was ready to trade my 2013 and order it... i'm keeping my 2013

optiontrader 12-29-2014 05:40 PM

Just saw a white Nismo when I brought my 40th in for service - and I'm of the opposite mind set. I want to trade in!

But it's an auto, unfortunately...

Is blue a Nismo color?

Chuy 03-22-2015 10:04 AM

I will hopefully be picking my pearl white Nismo in 2 weeks. Waiting for insurance check to come in. But my question is do you think the lip on the rear spoiler might be changed out. It looks like it could be.

the new nismo would look awesome without the red inserts, anyone painted it? black on black would look great, or have carbon fiber instead of the red inserts

Uxi 04-22-2015 01:07 PM

At first I was very turned off by the red accents myself and started looking at 14 (but didn't want the two tone / black either) and actually found a dealer that still has a new 13... but then the lack of Tech (which should really be basic features at this price point probably... but that's neither here nor there)....

Some of the red (on the mirrors) is a sticker, which is kinda cheap and easily removed but it grew on me and I love it now. Subtle enough but still has that pop to accent the aero and also matches the Nismo theme.

I liked silver in person but was floored by pearl white. Then it was just a matter of finding 6MT... Not a fan of black cars, but was also impressed when I saw one on the lot. Haven't seen red in person.

I very much love the new body kit and interior amenities. I hope the Z35 keeps a lot of those design cues.

Personally, I really like the wheels -- I was never a huge fan of the (in my view) overly "artsy" design of the Z34 sport pack wheels.

Uxi 04-22-2015 01:51 PM

I did at first miss the bigger spoiler and may consider something like an Evo R... but the front of the car is perfection. I also am perfectly fine with the 2015 Nismo rims more than the 2014 and no real desire or intention to swap them for anything.

Before getting the car I was inclined to get the Amuse STTI Gold Ring and still may at some point, but I am not at all dissatisfied with the stock HKS exhaust.

Asheth 04-22-2015 02:00 PM

I hated the red accents with black at first I couldn't find any decent pictures of black. All the good pictures I saw was white. I took a little trip to see black in person and decided I liked the way it looked. I get compliments on the red accents all the time now it's usually one the first things people mention. While I don't have a true 2015 Nismo styling wise I think they nailed it pretty well. I don't like the fender flares though. One guy with a Nismo removed them on his white one and it looks much better. He does have a drop and wheels too.

Davey 04-22-2015 04:06 PM

I like the red the best because the accents don't stand out as much. Also Solid Red is just such a kick-*** color.

I also like the black because, well, it's black.
