Good to know, Nargakhan.
There's only 3 options in terms of factory accessories for the Nismo Tech: -Illuminated Kick Plates -Carpeted Floor Mats -Carpeted Truck Mats I was originally planning to special order, but I'm willing to find there's a car with the exact options I want. I'm thinking that I'd be able to get a better price that way, as opposed to a special order. |
There is one in Kentucky of all places that has this options and a 2K discount.
2015 white with tech package and 6 speed. Online price is 44k or so. Here in DC area we got none. edited.....Gates Nissan in Richmond Kentucky |
There's a base one in AZ with floor mats. 42k. Cheaper than the 2014s.

From my understanding the DC-VA-NC sales region (looks like Nissan clumps them all together as one) has not recieved a 2015 NISMO yet. There's a bunch of ordinary coupes though. The car I was eyeing in SC just got sold... and KY is closer. |
It's in Franklin Kentucky use cars.com to find it. Looks really nice and it's tempting
to go get it. |

I chatted with them and its gone today, hoping its a forum member that will post some pics and let us know how the Recaros feel and the revised gearing.
|
Does anyone know if the vents on the new front fascia are functional? I am interested to know if the ducts direct air flow to the front brakes. This would be a nice improvement from the current Z.
|
The little vent under the DRL's is just cosmetic, you could easily cut them out though.
|
Picked up my 2015 nismo tech last Wednesday. She's better Than I ever dreamed. My first Z and I'm not at all disappointed.
Couple notes: no ID plate (that I can find) Cannot figure out how to get the rear fog light (the third light at the bottom) to turn on... Will happily answer any questions that I can though! |
Pics please sir, The fog is a dummy light like the other years I do believe.
|
How are the Recaro seats? Firm, comfy, fit and feel? How about the new final drive? Feel quicker?

The Recaro seats are fantastic in my opinion; they hold you in place comfortably no matter the turn. My wife is not a fan...but than this isn't for her. I'm not sure the difference in the final drive, again this is my first Z. Thanks for the tip that the fog light is just for show...coulda sworn I saw it "on" on a 2013...must have been wrong. |
Nissan has updated the official 2015 brochure:
http://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam...z-coupe-en.pdf Nothing new we didn't already know, but the PDF looks pretty. Quote:
The rear fog lights are never functional on the US models. It's one of the things they remove to cut costs. The sockets usually work though. You can easily buy a light kit and run the switch into the cabin... or hire a mechanic to do it. |

Its unfortunate but it looks like Nissan has done away with the special serialization of nismo cars. The NISMO GTR doesn't even have it either I thought that was a cool touch |
Well that sucks. It really is just another trim level now.

I ordered one already, and it is a little disappointing they did away w the numbering. I just talked to a guy I met at Zdayz who works for corporate nissan. He said they did away with the numbering due to the Nismo edition not being exclusive to the Z. :(

Its not special anymore. Nissan ruined "nismo" now. It used to be a prestigious and rare thing and now its the difference between getting an s maxima and an sv. Reduced to yet another Uninspired basic trim level. Probably even assembled in the same place now. Now u can take all the nismo parts and put it on a base and pass it off as a nismo. No one would be the wiser without the serial number plate matching a VIN.
No offense to those who bought one its just my opinion that its uglier, heavier, probably performs the same and is more expensive with less exclusivity and sentamental value. Reminds me of those OZ rally mitsubishi lancers, pretending to be be passed off as something comparable to a real evo. Seats are sweet though, +1 for that. Even the 370 nismo 09-14 were a slight backwards step to what the old 350 nismo had, and all the previous japan only Z's and the r32-34 nismos. At least those had structural chassis changes, more welding, and a significantly different overal performance and value. Nismo has really fallen from grace in the past decade. |
Dude, take your Nismo to Carmax and be done with it already.....or just set it on fire. It sucks you have poor credit and a kid on the way, and can't get rid of your's fast enough...but thats life.
|
Damn. You know this isn't the Z35 Z right? It's still a cool car that serves a purpose.

I have mixed feelings about the look of the new nismo but it does have its great angles. I do like how the front fascia openings slightly resembles that of the Aventador. With regards to Nismo I just wish it was a true complete package uprgrade in the sense of BMW with their M's or Mercedes with AMG and etc etc. Even if it tip toes into GT-R HP territory so be it. The GT-R would still sell well even with a close competing sibling because people who want one would still buy it because of it being a "holy grail" of the car scene. C'mon NISMO!!!! :driving:

Yea they definitely need spacers the fender flares they added to the kit make the gap look worse.
|
They need a drop some spacers and the 09-14 nismo wing.

yup thats why. I guess their logic was they would need to do it for every model or something I had the #33 NISMO 350z by chance and always thought that was cool since it was Z33. so yeah I really liked the serial # thing. you think thats bad.... Im taking delivery of #1 GTR NISMO ever built for the US in a couple weeks and it doesnt have a designation on it. the VIN is just a generic #1608. I did get Nissan to have me a plaque made( not for the car but for like a wall) made so thats better than nothing |
Hello, everyone! :tiphat:
I've been lurking this forum for the last year or so without posting a single thing, so I thought I'd at least fulfill my civic duty and share a few pictures that I have taken at a local dealership... **Please forgive me, my post is a bit picture heavy. :eekdance:** http://i57.tinypic.com/33tl820.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/taosih.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/2gukr9c.jpg ^ :icon14: http://i62.tinypic.com/2v8nz2c.jpg ^ It's true...no special serial number plate. :shakes head: http://i61.tinypic.com/2vmeo11.jpg ^ Addition of a fender lip (if that's what it's called) is a nice touch. http://i58.tinypic.com/2z71p3r.jpg ^ Stickers. Other than those and the lack of the large Nismo rear wing, I like the car. I even went to the extent of calling Nissan USA and requesting to special order a 2015 Nismo with the 09-14 spoiler, but the guy who I spoke with stated that there is nothing that they could do. He went further to say that I could always " go aftermarket", but it may "possibly void the warranty". :shakes head: In my opinion, I don't like how Nissan went with a smaller rear wing. The duckbill spoiler doesn't compliment the aggressiveness of the new front fascia. And maybe I'm the only one, but I never had any issues with the large Nismo wing in the way while driving/backing-up. Now regarding the Recaro seats...I'm 5'6, 150lbs and the seats felt a little too snug on my body. Then again, that's probably because I'm not used to sitting on Recaros. :icon14: |
^You'll have to create a thread when the GTR Nismo arrives! :drools:
I feel like they changed the design of the Nismo Z to match the other nismo cars, someone at corporate was like "hey why does that nismo z not match the sentra and the juke, change it". Still an awesome car but i wouldn't want to upgrade to it. I like my 09 #0111 :D |
How it should have been.

I only wish the new spoiler was integrated, instead of a glued on thing. However I realize Nissan did that, because they didn't want to create an all new mold for the trunk. |
Such a weak, soft look to it. Not very aggressive IMO :shakes head:
