Hmmm... I was look at some high-res photos of the 2015 NISMO and was wondering about something.
Look at the new side skirts. Does it look like they're "glued on" to the ordinary 370Z side sills? I used to think they were a newly designed single piece, but looking at the pics and thinking about the new spoiler is glued on (not a new trunk mold), and knowing how Nissan would be cheap to cut costs... Is it just me? |
Nah looks redesigned. The new one flares out and base flares in.
Unless I am looking at wrong pics? |
|
^Oh man, that Nissan guy has was stuttering over every other word. Half of the words he said were "uhm."
Also, they stated they're only NOW starting to plan the next gen Z? I figured it would be done by now. |
I've had a '11 sport-auto, currently driving '12-6sp but looks like im gonna pull the trigger 0n the '15 nismo. waiting for a call from my dealer.
|
bought a 2013 base/sport 9/2013...wanted a nismo but have a right shoulder condition and have to have an auto...now that the 2015 nismo comes with an auto, may pull the trigger and order one if they give me enough for trade-in...my local dealer just ordered two (both manuals) today...going to take a look when they come-in...love the black cherry but not an option with the nismo...getting a red one if the numbers work-out...being told that a deposit will be required due to ordering an auto (they claim no one wants an auto nismo)...no problem with that but they didn't tell me how much yet...will demand a refundable deposit if car is damaged...other than that, can't see a reason why a refund would be necessary :D
|
Curious what price you guys get on the 15. I am waiting until winter to buy mine and saving money for parts right now. Priority for me is turbo and I already have enough for that, just need the damn car haha.

From my experience, the preorder deposit is usually 1% the MSRP of what you're asking for or $500 -- whichever is greater. It can be refundable, even if you decide to NOT buy the car, unless you sign a contract that says it's nonrefundable. Also I'm told that in some states, it's refundable by law (and dealers are ignorant of that or fail to mention it). If the dealer is going to stick by his guns, and say the $500 is because selling an automatic is so hard (which I think is bullcrap): have it in writting that they will refund your $500 deposit after someone else buys it. I doubt they'll NEVER find someone who will buy it... or be unable to trade it to another dealer who does find a buyer with the options you're getting. This is the 370Z. Available options are far more limited, than compared to something like a Stingray. It's not like you're ordering something with a set of features that no one else would ever imagine of combining. You can't even pick interior colors or seat styles. It's one-size-fits-all with a lot of things. |

Got my G sold, and will be ordering a 2015 White Nismo as soon as my dealer gets back to me, hopefully I can get the ball rolling so I'm not carless for too long. Coming from a G the only thing that kept me from the Nismo in years past is I love the tech package, and prefer the OEM. Once the Nismo gained nav I was sold. I want something sporty but didn't want to completely give up the luxury items found in most new cars. Already have a set of DPE wheels coming, transferring over my StopTech BBK and a GTM Stage 2 TT kit.

and....money down. The wait begins. Slated for October build.
|
A buddy of mine posted a picture with a 2015 Nismo from a dealer lot in Hawaii. It was white. Has anyone seen a black one in person? I checked Nissan and the sight said the only one in the 48 states is a white one in Scottsdale. If you see a black one, please post a picture.

Coming back to the Dark Side Will ? |
Quick search on the Nissan USA website shows 3 Nismo Tech vehicles out there. Two in CA and one in AZ. Nothing on the actual dealer sites though - although they tend to be slow updating from personal experience.
|
$9000 for the seats?! What are they smoking? Also, I just noticed that the red trim is consistent across all colors. They should have at least put black trim on the solid red Z. Thankfully, they are separate pieces. It will be interesting to see if people paint them different colors.
I'm planning on either a DiNOC carbon wrap, or trying my hands at wrapping them in real carbon fiber. |
i have them saved on my phone, not a fan of the black IMO, i will post them in a few

New 2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO For Sale in Scottsdale AZ N17338 | Scottsdale New Nissan For Sale JN1AZ4EHXFM440067 VIN: JN1AZ4EHXFM440067 ***EDIT*** Not good at reading VIN's, but for those who are, does that mean she's hull number 67 of the 2015 NISMO group? |
love the black but never doing that again (rx8 was black)...too hard to take care of
red is my favorite color but red striping doesn't show (nice nissan) don't care for white on a sports car (not flashy enough) guess it's silver for me (will have door handles painted black or red metallic so they show better) just my opinion but nissan screwed up putting the red striping on a red car  |
Quote:
The red striping really has a fantastic "minimalist" approach with a black body. On the white body, the red striping brings more attention to the black trim. IMHO, almost all white cars look better with black lower trim. The silver body -- especially from the front -- just screams catfish at me, so I'm not a big fan of it. I agree with the red body: you can't see the striping and there isn't enough black trim. The red version shouldn't even have the striping and left full black. |
Seems that sites are starting to post the invoice pricing.
According to CarsDirect, a dealer would pay in the neighborhood of $45,855 for a fully optioned AT Nismo Tech... then turn around and charge the buyer $48,020. So something like $2165 profit for them if you're dumb enough to pay full sticker price. |

No they are the same 19's, I think it just looks a little off because it's not a real pic of a real car.

yeah im pretty disheartened how little margin is in these cars. there is still 2.9% holdback and im sure I can get atleast half of that with my contacts..but my goal of getting one for 38K OTD dont look too good right now http://i898.photobucket.com/albums/a...psaf3ea660.png |
A minor observation from car sale charts...
2014 sales for the Z were generally better than 2013. Depending on the month, something between 100 to 200 more cars per comparative month. However the numbers weren't incredible, per se -- 2010 through 2012 were better -- just that 2014 was better than 2013. That changed for August though: 2013 sales were better than 2014... so the trend suddenly broke. Expectation for the 2015 might have done that. Remains to be seen if the arrival of the 2015 boosts sales in future months. |
I just found out that Im most likely won't be doing the 2015 Front Nismo bumper conversion!
The reason is, those front LED running lights are going to be EXPENSIVE!!! The ones on the 2014 Models are $700 for just ONE!!! One freaking LED light. Freaking ridicules. They must be made out of gold. The cheapest I found is $500 brand new, and even that's too much. I can only imagine how much the Nismo's LEDs will cost lol. I think I'll just get the front lip lol |

Went to one in Gardena, CA... It's beautiful, but the inside was OLD especially the radio...
I'm FAT and had a BAD accident years ago  and I could not get myself out of the Recaro seat... I could get in perfectly but getting out... :( I needed help... |
Pro Tip: For those trying to special order the NISMO, and you don't want to wait the full 90 days, see if your dealer can do a vehicle exchange with the dozen or so NISMO's already out in the wild... or exchange the allocation slot. You should NOT have to pay extra for that kind of service. #1: It happens all the time. #2: The work involved is mostly the manager doing an inventory/order search, phone calls, and some paperwork. It's not rocket science.
Learned some more interesting info about preordering Nissan cars. When you factory order a Stingray from Chevy, your order requirements are sent to the factory and they build the car for you specifically. This is because there's so many combination of options someone can get. When you factory order a 370Z from Nissan, your order requirement is put on a waiting list. Because the Z has a much more limited range of option combinations, sooner or later the factory will build a car to your specifications. When that happens, and if you're next in line on the waiting list for that option combination, it will be sent to your dealer. The car isn't build specifically for you... it just happens to be the kind of car you want. |
First post, but been on here for 2 years or so now, researching and waiting, BUT, most likely deciding on 2015 Nismo, as soon as I can see one in person...
