Reached out to a local dealer yesterday. Explained that I'm looking to buy a 2015 Nismo 370Z and am trying to figure out when they expect them to show up and when they will be available to order/pre-order. The guy tells me that he's going to see if he can find some specifics for me and will shoot me an email with his findings later.

I get the email and it's basically the guy asking me when I'm looking to buy and telling me that they've got a lot of nice 2014's on their lot...

This is why I hate people.

I did my weekly dealership check this morning, and none of them have an Order Guide for the 2015 model. The original news release from Nissan claimed the car would be on lots already, but you can't even order them for September (since it can take 4 to 6 weeks after using the Order Guide).

I've tried asking Nissan's PR people (via email and their site form submission) what's going on, but I've gotten no response so far. Can someone see if they'll answer their Twitter or Facebook page about when the 2015 will be out? I don't have an account with those sites.

It's pretty clear there's a delay. Now it's just the questions of why and how long. The dealers aren't being told anything more than we are.

The Japanese Nissan site has pricing info for the cars (and can be ordered in Japan):

370Z NISMO 2015 Automatic is 5,310,000 yen (without Japanese tax). That comes to $51,667 at the current exchange rate.

370Z NISMO 2015 Manual is 5,210,000 yen (without Japanese tax). That comes to $50,694 at the current exchange rate.

Does not include all the extra goodies. The extra options available that are shown:

* The navigation adds another 504,360 yen ($4,907).

* Floor lights in the cabin adds another 34,251 yen ($333).

Note these are the Japanese domestic prices for the base model. We might also end up paying more depending on export taxes and what not.

So knowing this will be the general price... are you willing to pay this much for the car?

No one is going to pay $55k+ for this car. Should be no more than $43-45k.

Illumination package was to set the color space of the good-quality adult room as "welcome lamp" and "Moody illumination" ● welcome lamp (reddish orange) ● Moody illumination (reddish orange)

hahahahah

KrisL 07-31-2014 11:36 AM

Good grief. I really want a 7AT with the tech package, but if these prices stay the same over here, that puts it at $56.5K. No way. I'll buy a new C7 Corvette if we're talking $50K+.

Exactly. That's my point. That price puts it easily into new vette range along with other used car ranges such as Lotus, BMW M3/4, GTR... take your pick. It just won't sell. I think they're raping their own market. Hell, i'd rather have a loaded Q50S

Wait a second... looks like the 2015 NISMO has gained weight?

Nevermind. I was reading the wrong lines.

According to the Japanese site: MT is 1630 kilograms and AT is 1640 kilograms for gross weight.

The 2014 model is 1800 kilograms gross weight according to this sheet:

http://www.newsroom.nissan-europe.co...01214_1_5.aspx

So she lost some weight.

shurik355 07-31-2014 05:31 PM

^^^^ that's great news!!! but still if it's over 50K ... it will hardly sell.

Im also on Nissan USA facebook page. There's no way you can write them there. No comment section unless you're commenting on a certain picture that they post.

aszyd 07-31-2014 07:12 PM

It won't be over 50K. Just because that is the Japanese price, does not mean it will be the US price. It will be priced accordingly to the market, demand, perceived competition, etc.

Absolutely and it certainly won't be. Early figures pegged it right around $44k. Given the updates I would say that's acceptable.

1630 kg is 3600 pounds.... The nismo is 3350

Figured out your issue it says 1535 not 1630 on that sheet which is the same weight as now

Quoting my own post, wee!!

The one thing I forgot to mention was dealer markup. The markup will be strong with this one. I wouldn't doubt that someone will pay over 50K after markup. Be patient or find a decent dealer. I remember back when the 1M was released. People were getting bent over on the markup.

It's pushed back the same reason a rock band keeps you waiting for them to come out on the stage... build you up and keep you in suspense!

KrisL 08-04-2014 07:57 AM

Heard back from one of the local dealers I reached out to last week. He told me that they were told by Nissan that they will get their first Nismo (a black one) sometime in September.

Sept.?? wow they pushed it back a couple month! sucks!!!

BOLIO 671 08-05-2014 11:43 AM

That's a lot sooner than anytime here on Guam...The dealership here still has a black 2014 Nismo that they're trying to clear...At $52K the car has been here for a year, since June or July of 2013....The dealer here says that their expecting the 2015 Nismo model sometime in the latter part of the year either November or December.

41990 base price!

Nargrakhan 08-08-2014 01:08 PM

Let the games begin... went to the dealer to special order the new NISMO.

Nissan still hasn't sent out the Order Guides to all the dealers yet, so it causes some minor technicalities filling out the forms, because they don't have the specific model number. The dealer had an educated guess what it would be, based off the numbering patterns of older models, but didn't want to screw anything up and left it blank for now.

That being said: as we all obviously already know, no dealer in the United States has these cars sitting on a lot. My choices are getting one factory ordered or having it pulled from the first batch that's getting shipped to the US. The dealer is going to reach out to the regional manager and various contacts for an Open Allotment for either options, and will get back with me no later than the end of next week to tell me delivery dates. He's hopeful it won't take that long, as the dealership has very good standing with Nissan.

Anyone else having any luck?

***EDIT***
On a side note: it sucks we don't get the option for interior lights.

KMO-II 08-08-2014 01:10 PM

THE 2015 models are on the NISSAN site now. You can build your own w/colors etc. Here the link.

Yea. We ended up using that... it was a core reason why the dealer would take a special order request with more seriousness. Nonetheless, we couldn't find the revised model and option codes on it. They could be the same, but didn't want to risk it. Either way, got the request in and waiting for a confirmed Open Allotment.

MC 08-08-2014 08:55 PM

So im thinking of getting one of these maybe in the winter but im really torn on if its the right move or not

here is some of the rationale I came up with, what do you guys think?

Quote:

YES I SHOULD reasons

-Ive been thinking as the arrival of theNISMO GTR nears and having the #1 NISMO ever built for the US with all the documentation and all that is going to make me so paranoid to drive it. having something like this Z would make a really cool and fun daily driver. The first ever US market NISMO GTR is a collectors car and a piece of Nissan history and I just cant drive it like I would want to.

-Also as some know im big into autocross and have used Z's for a good number of years up until I got my 09 GTR in 2008. I feel running that NISMO GTR would do nothing but eat up $3K tires. I mean I might do a few runs occasionally but if I had this I could do a full season care free and save the NISMO GTR for our VIR track day and a few other things like that.

-right now I have a NISMO frontier pick up that I drive everyday and im starting to get tired of having to drive a truck daily as a compromise to have the GTR. I remember back when I had my 350z NISMO I would drive that thing all the time and enjoyed it

-It would be fun to get back into a 6 speed manual as I loved my 350z NISMO Z

- I could pick up the 42K non tech and see If I can get it for 36-37K

- Ive got access to a very unique line of credit at 1.9% with a minimum payment of like $100ish month per say $30K. so the monthly payment could be basically whatever I wanted it to be

-matching black 2015 NISMOs!

- I got to help unveil the car for the US so would be cool to own

-My start in the Nissan community and rise to where I am now started with the Z and would be cool to get back to my roots!

-I could be more involved around here on the Z forum

The NO reasons are

-Well the money plain and simple. the NISMO GTR was already $13K more than I expected because of the Ti exhaust option instead of it being standard. I dont have disposable income and the NISMO GTR thing was the perfect storm of my master plan and everything coming together in a way I could never pull off again.

-40K for another car might be getting a little over my head and ive done well in life not ever getting to that point. however this would be more all intents and purposes my primary driver and I would really use it like it was intended.

- 2 sports car car insurance bills. ( something to consider)

-Only have a 2 car garage ( my GF has a pathfinder)

- all new Z35 is due in the next 2 years with all new styling and brand new engine choices that is going to make the Z34 which is already aged feel obsolete
