Dealer has confirmed their Open Allotment. Will be providing a refundable down payment. Dealer is confident that even if I back out, he can find another buyer (not sure if he honestly feels that way; or just a bluff). We went back and forth on pricing, but didn't come to a total agreement. I am not paying over or equal to the sticker price, but how much below is not set. Dealer wants to have the car physically on the lot before making final offer. I know it's a psychological ploy: with the car visibly in front of me, I'll want it more. We're looking at late September to early October for arrival.

He made an odd offer of cutting more dollars off, if I let him display the car in their showroom for a full week before taking it home. I suppose they want to show it off next to the GT-Rs, for word of mouth advertising.

***EDIT***
On a side note: trade in values for the outgoing model has plummeted. KBB showed a $2000 drop from last week. Nothing surprising really, but worth mentioning.

Guys these cars depreciate so rapidly, as such be careful on buying new and barter for the lowest price possible. Go look at trade in values for a 2014, it's a 25% decrease over new MSRP.

that fact has been weighing heavily on my decision making. I mean I can get this car for close to dealer cost but even then I dont wont to take a big hit. I turned down a 2014 NISMO this weekend for actual dealer cost as they just wanted it gone. I would need to be in the mid 30's to make this happen. my time frame is after February so I just need to see how everything pans out between now and then

oo thats great info!

Funny you say that comment about him selling it. The dealer I went to last weekend had a sales guy tell me something he probably shouldn't have. Told me their last Nismo sat at the lot for 8 months before an employee bought it for a good discount.

I went there Sunday and was specific I wasn't planing on purchasing anything that day, so it seemed he had no motivation to try and sell me lol.

So hopefully when time comes for me to go and purchase mine (Hopefully mid Dec) I will use their old nismo sale as a helper haha.

I'd go for that if I was you. How much was he willing to let you do that? I would caveat that with nobody sits or drives it while its on display.

Decided not to go with the new Nismo. Today I placed an order for a 2015 Z51 Vette, pretty decked out with options and it came to 69,660 + tax. To me, the more I thought of it paying 50K for this Nismo just wasn't worth it and chipping in a little extra ( ok 20K) I get my dream car.

Nice. I would of got a base Z and slapped a TT on it. Put a few grand in the suspension, regeared, new clutch. Had a beast car.

Nice car! But also, the Nismo isn't a 50k car. Fully loaded sticker price is 47k, so you should be expecting ~45k at most. The Vette looks awesome, but is in a different price range (20k is a lot lol)

I went to the Nissan site to build a Nismo and they are not showing the new leather interior just the old cloth, with tax it will be a 50K car at least early in early sales before relaxing IMO.

I have to ask if you are dropping that kind of cash, why not go for GTR? Or is gtr just not your cup of tea?

Only reason I ask this is because when I see a corvette (even the new one) on the street. It is nice but I don't really care to have a second look. However when I see a GTR it is way more fascinating. I totally understand we all have our own opinions and I totally respect that. Just curious that is all.

Love the GTR, but that is way out of my price range. Now you are talking $110,000 or more. I'll stick with my 70k Vette, when it gets here

The new Vette is gorgeous. Nice choice.
I grew up with a 63 Vette black with red interior. Vettes alway have a special place in my heart. My step dad said I could drive to my senior prom.... I already decided to skip prom and just drive all night but he sold it like 2 weeks before to a MLB player... lol

Not trying to be a downer but your not that slick nick if you can't go to a dealership and negotiate a deal. Your building cars on the websites is a waist of time. Your new 70k vette just lost 20k the moment it left the dealership. Nothing wrong with general motors. Its just the price some pay for owning them.
