New Z Owner

Attachment 89205 This is my first Nissan and my first Z. I bought it to retire my current daily driver, an '02 911. I've only had the Nismo for three days so I'm keeping it under 4k but I'm loving it! :happydance: The one attribute I've been most impressed with is that it turns effortlessly. My 911 turns well also but this car is just effortless, so smooth and precise. All I can say is WOW! I can't wait for the break-in to be complete so I can open it up. (I did cheat once - just once, and went to 6k on an on-ramp - OMG I can't wait!) BTW I checked for the shipping blocks on the front suspension and sure enough - there they are. I'm suppose to go back to the dealer next Friday to pick up the rest of my manuals - someone swiped the service and warranty books - so I'll have them removed then. I don't really intend to do any mods - that's why I bought the Nismo - except perhaps an oil cooler and maybe an intake (for the sound). I don't care for loud exhaust, I got that out of my system with the Porsche (drone, drone, drone - that lasted about a year), but I would like to hear a little bit more of the exhaust note. After all, isn't that why we drive performance sports cars? This car is fabulous as is and I'm really looking forward to driving it. :driving: |
:welcome:
Enjoy your beautiful new Z! |
Welcome and a great observation. While people are naturally obsessed with horsepower, I don't think the Z gets enough credit for how well it handles.

Awesome! So your neighbor has a Z as well?

I found a gray 2014, test drove it with my wife who actually insisted I buy it, and drove it home last Friday. So it's all my neighbor's fault... |

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Nismo. :tup: Give it time. You'll do some mods to it. It's hard not to. :icon17:

:iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree:
I always buy a car and say "no mods on this one" why yes I am an idiot that says that That last a couple weeks until I see or hear something I want. I'd have to say the Air intake, test pipes, exhaust and tune turned my Nismo from cool and fast to "holy **** batman that's fast" |

So I'm inclined to enjoy driving the car, knowing it has limits of performance it will not go beyond, and learn to perform to the best of my ability within those limits. As a car guy I certainly appreciate craftsmanship and can appreciate a well sorted and efficiently modified car, but I'm not chasing the mod fairy. I'm just going to enjoy driving the car. For now anyway... |
Congrats and welcome to the Nismo team. Good luck on keeping the mods to a minimum....I couldn't LOL! :tiphat:

woot woot!!
|
I bought mine already broken in. I'm not a patient enough person to make it all the way through without beating on it.
Congrats on the new ride! |
Congrats - I traded in an RX-8 and was impressed at how much the Z spanked my Mazda in handling.

Rx-9? I've only heard that Mazda is stopping production of the rotary engine. X-16 was the last I heard of any future rotary car and there hasnt been much talk about it. Huh, would be interesting to see what Mazda does.
