Potential NISMO buyer - some questions
Hey guys,
Over the last few weeks I have gotten serious about wanting to find a new '14 NISMO 370 in white. I have found a few within 200 miles from me, I am located in Southeast Virginia. I have been a Honda S2000 owner over the last 9 years (it's a wonderfully rewarding car), and have owned 4 different ones. So, I'm a little nervous on making the switch to a whole new car. Either way, the NISMO is the only car on my list right now. I have been doing as much research as possible over the last few weeks, juggling work and kids. My local dealer doesn't know much about the car, but they can get me a white one from one of their "sister" dealers. They told me that the NISMO 370 cannot be ordered… is this true? My main concern, is my timeframe for pulling the trigger on one. I currently have my 2008 Grand Prix White S2000 listed and expect it to sell quickly. The plan would be to move on a NISMO ASAP once the S is sold. From the prior NISMO years, is there usually one available new somewhere? I mean, if I wait a few months, maybe till summer, or later this year, will it be nearly impossible to find a new one? After some searches, it seems that there are still some new 2013s sitting on lots, so I'm hoping that would be the case for the 2014s. Sorry for rambling, and thanks in advance for any input. I look forward to the coming months, and seeing what the NISMO 370 is all about! |

The answer to one of your questions, is YES. The dealer should be able to order you a NISMO. You might have some bargaining power on the ones at their sister dealerships. Keep that in mind. Depending on how long the ones have been their. Hope this helps out.

Be nervous, I would put a lot of thought into this. The S2K is a awesome car, and for sure keeps up with the Nismo. I raced against some S2K's last year in autocross (B-Stock) for the first time, and they were the ones to beat. Test drive it, and get a feel for it first. Good Luck!

id drive one first, and the dealer might be right about ordering. they can def get one shipped from another dealer but flat out ordering one im not sure. i got lucky and one was coming over from japan and still on the boat. i scooped it up right then and there. dont be upset when i tell you invoice on a 2010 brand new was $37k. its crazy how much they went up in price since.
best of luck. OP try Steven Hipshin in houston Texas at tom peacock nissan. he did invoice no questions asked. |

I'll tell ya straight up, I ordered my 13 Nismo from a Nissan dealership. I picked the options, color, etc. I placed a $2500 deposit and my dealer placed the order the next day, on Feb 12, 2013. He gave me 2 updates during the process; one when the order was accepted by Nissan, and one when the car shipped from Japan. I picked up the car on Apr 15, 2013 ... The process from ordering to picking up the car took 8 weeks. I looked at Camaro 1LE, Boss 302 Mustang and the Nismo. The other 2 were OK but the quality wasn't there. With the exception of the 2001-style audio/entertainment system, I really like the car ... this is my 3rd Z car too, having owned a Z33 and Z32 as well ...

Thanks for all the great info guys! I'm actually talking to Joe at Koeppel Nissan. Seems to know his stuff, and their dealer seems to be the best place on the east coast for Nissan's "special" cars (Z's and GTRs).
My S2000 could potentially be sold in the next few days, so I could be in a NISMO a lot sooner than expected. |

Will do! Hopefully I'll be in one within the next few weeks.
One question for you Nismo owners… I noticed in some of the pictures online of the '14 Nismo, that they seem to have some type of fender extensions/lips front and back. Are these pieces just offered on the european models? Really like the look of them. |

That's what I was wondering. When I built the Nismo on Nissan's site, I didn't see them anywhere in the "accessories" section. I'm guessing these are exclusive to the european market?

So I've got it narrowed down to a few cars, and I'm holding out on sending a deposit. Two of them have the Bose option with a handful of other little options (mats, trunk carpet, etc.), but they're not much more than the one that doesn't have the Bose package.
Tough decision here. First world problems. |
